I finally found a doctor that I have seen before that is willing to talk to me. I explained that I was never sent for a HSG, and they found that hard to believe also!! Imagine that, huh? Hopefully I will find out much needed information that will ease some of the confusion I have. I go in a couple of weeks to see what they say, the only alarming part is that the Essure is something new that they are doing in their office. I'm guessing that they have done their research, they always have before. Wish me luck!!! Hopefully there will be sunshine after the rain!

I just had pain that was explained. A week after the procedure it was manageable but eventually got worse. I had pain from my sciatic nerve constantly being inflammed, to pain across my abdomen, and down my legs. All of the pain was like muscle pain. The only explaination of what kind of pain it was is that of inflammation all thru my muscles. My tubes were not inflammed when the surgery was performed, however before the surgery the dr told me that once he took out my tubes and removed the devices from them he would see if there was any soreness or redness or inflammation inside that was not visible outside. In my opinion, any kind of pain that you are experiencing since the procedure should be looked at as the Essure. Doctors that I saw ignored that it could be the Essure, until I went to one that was willing to accept that it might be since I had no pain until a week after the procedure. Listen to your body!!!!

        Thanks vickiw,

I ended up in the ER agian yesterday morning and told the doctor about my latest consipircy theory for a nickel allergy due to the essure. He said since I've had all other tests basically he thought let's treat you for allergy and see what happens. Gave me some sort of cocktail and pain subsided but I'm not totally sure beacuse prior to my visit I had also taken 4mg of diladid for pain...I see an allergiest in two weeks to find out for sure. If it turns out that I am allergic to this god awful implant is there any financial recorse I can take against my doctor? I have spent over 50K dollars in medical bills over the last 10 months trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Very frustrated.

I very highly doubt that any recourse can be taken against your doctor. I am in the same predicament and unemployed with very minimal health insurance, but let me assure you that in order to get these removed, I would have paid anything. Keep your eyes and ears open for hopefully a class action lawsuit. I really beleive that once this comes about and the more reports are made to the FDA, something will be done. Also a TIP!!! Make sure that the allergist you are going to has the test in their office for nickel. When I called, they told me that they don't do it that I would have to contact a dermatologist. Once I called the dermatologist, they told me that they would have to order the test as they don't have many that request it. If the allergist does not have it in the office they can order it and hopefully have it in their office in time for your visit. Just a TIP from me...I don't want you to waste money on more office visits or to have to wait on the test. I am still waiting on my nickel allergy test to come in from the dermatologist. Doctors play off the nickel allergy, When I asked before this procedure to see if I needed to get tested, they asked me a series of questions and I answered NO to all of them, so they said there is no need to get tested. Even if an allergy is present, I still feel there is something wrong with the production of these coils. I had no rash, or anything to prove an allergy. I go to the doctor to day for my follow up after surgery so I am curious to see what he says about the coils...Hope all goes well for you!!!

Just got back from the OB/GYN and she thinks I should have the remaining coil removed. She believes that I more than likely have a nickel allergy which is causing my issues. Apparently she can do this outpatient without having to do a hysterecotomy! Very excited.

                Don't do Essure

I had the Essure method done 6 months after having my 2nd child in 2008. I had never heard of it before I went to discuss having my tubes tied with my OB/GYN. She had told me it was relatively new, but was ideal for working mother's because it was quick, outpatient and the healing time was quicker. It sounded perfect for me. I went in, they gave me numbing shots (which numbed my tongue, not my vaginal area ) I felt everything they did and just about passed out from the pain and from my blood pressure sky-rocketing. They almost admitted me for my blood pressure (which is normally 120/80). I had pain, which I had expected after the surgery. After 3 months, I had the dye test done which was very painful and showed that one side had not blocked. My doctor assured me that it would block, but that I may be a slow healer. I told her I wasn't going to do the dye test again, it was too painful along with the pain that I continued to have from the surgery. I had constant pain in my left lower abdomen, it NEVER went away. This pain continued for a year. I asked my doctor to take the coils out and that I had made a huge mistake letting them put those in. She told me she thought i would have to have a partial hysterectomy to get them out. she had never taken them out before or heard of anyone having these problems. She got back to me a week later after she had talked to a few other doctors. Each one of those doctor's had at least one patient complain of the same problem. She said that she could take them out. So 1 year to the day that I had them put in, she took them out and tied my tubes the old fashioned way. She said that the left coil was fine, but the right had started to poke through my tube, which was odd since I had no pain on my right side. ??? I feel great now, but what an ordeal!!! Something needs to be done to warn women about the dangers of this method. I thought my experience was horrible, but I am reading more and more women having worse symptoms that I did. I'm sure this works for some women, but whenever I talk to friends who are contimplating this method, I tell them my story. My doctor told me that she is no longer offering this procedure to her patient's, she said if she had known the side effects, she would have never started doing them in the first place. It was a nightmare that lasted for a year, I just hope that nothing further develops from those things!!!!

                  AliCat,

do you still have a coil in then? I had one fall out a month after the procuedure and had it removed and both my tubes tied however my doctor said the right one was "in place" so she left it in. I continue to have issues, going to the allergiest next week to find out if I have an allergy to nickel. Regardless of the outcome she indicated that she wants to remove the right coil anyway. If you have that coil still in I would follow up and double check that you don't have any allergies to the nickel becauuse you will continue to have issues.

Hi there, I had the essure procedure done about 5 and a half years ago. occlusion worked and I never had any problems with it. About four months ago I had unprotected sex not thinking anything about it. About two weeks ago I started experiencing heart burn and an increase in peeing etc. I've been getting lighter then usual periods. And this last one was seven days late which is weird for me because mine are 28 days apart always. anyway about a week ago I started having movement in my tummy. I've had three other children so I know quickening in pregnancy well. I could swear there is a baby in there. Since you've been through a pregnancy after essure I was wondering if you had any bleeding through it. Also I had a blood test last week but it showed negative.

Okay, this is totally freaking the out of me. I had the procedure last Friday (07/09). Things went fine. I went out and ate afterwards and slept for a couple of hours with very light spotting. Today is now Monday (07/12) and now I find this forum. I am like really scared. I truly hope I do not have any problems. My doctor called to see how I was doing and I go in 3 months from now to do the HSG test. What do they do there?
