What happened with the pregnancy? I just found out that I am pregnant, waiting to see what is going to happen. I had my procedure in August of 2009, thought I was safe!

I had Essure in August of 2009. For a year I was having lower abdominal pain and back pain in my flank area. After an ER visit and a follow Dr visit they did a cat scan. One of the inserts had migrated and was now sticking out my uterine wall. The dr that put them in had moved so I went to a different Ob/gyn. He said since they had been in there over a year he could not go just take them out. He recommended a hysterectomy. He offered to try a couple other options but did not feel they would absolutely work. Since I had previous stomach surgeries I had to have an open hysterectomy. I was out of work for 8 weeks because I am a nurse and do a lot of lifting. I currently have a lawyer looking at my case. I had done this whole procedure so I did not have to be off work and look where that got me. I was wondering if anybody else has or has had a lawsuit do to Essure and what the results were.

I went to emergency last summer for extreme pain on my left side when they did the scan they found that the one on the right had migrated into my uterus. When I asked my Dr. he also said it was normal and nothing to worry about but from time to time the pain is horrible and he also told me I had cyst. I thought something was not right with this. Thanks for posting!

Hello Ladies, I had the Essure procedure done in the spring of 2009 and at 1st everything was fine the scar tissue formed and I'm now sterile. When my fiance and I have intercoarse in a certain position or if I have a strong orgasm, I have severe abdominal pain. I wouldn't recommend Essure, but it's your call. The procedure wasn't bad, in fact I had no pain afterwards what so ever, but the pain I have now is making up for that. Sometimes it feels like a knife is being pushed in or out of my stomach, after intercoarse.

I also had the same situation except mine migrated and attached itself to my small intestine. Went to original doctor many times had many tests, CT scans, colonoscopy and nothing. Finally got sick of my OB doing nothing and blaming it on something else and called around to find a Dr. willing to take the stupid things out. He recommended a partial hysterectomy (laproscopic) when he went in he said he could not find the one that had migrated and so he moved stuff around(sorry not the proper medical terms) he saw something on my small intestine and there it was, so he had to remove it from the outside, did not have to cut section out of my intestine. So I still have my ovaries but everything else is gone. It was the best move ever! I only have occasional pain in my small intestine when scar tissue flares up, nothing like before. So if you are hesitant about a hysterectomy maybe a partial would be okay? Make sure you get lots of opinions but I feel you need to get them out of there, as far as suing the company, I have heard it's pretty much impossible. Good luck and I hope you find what works for you.

I had the essure implanted 4 months ago. Last week I started having severe abdominal pains that not only hurt there but my sides and back as well. I have called my doctor to make an appointment however he can't see me till next week. i am wondering if this keeps going like this if I should just go to the ER. I have this feeling that something is very wrong. These pains are worse then labor and I had 2 children naturally. I have problems moving, eating, and doing the simpilest of tasks when these pains are at their worst.

Cnt, don't wait there could even be a small infection and you will need immediately antibiotics, or it was placed in-correctly as another posibility and needs to be removed.

I am sad, reading over and over the past nearly 3 years of all the pain you ladies are going through, one by one from this proceedure...I would so like to hear a happy ending more than an occasional painful experience, just seems to be the opposite way around...

The conclusion I have is alot of the Doctors aren't trained well enough, the product and proceedure is too new...The Company will deny that and blame the Doctor...

But please go to the ER.... No one should live in pain. Then work out what to do from there.

                      Take care. All of you.
