I must be one of the lucky ones

I must be one of the lucky ones!
I had essure done feb 2010. And the procedure itself was done in 15 minutes i experienced light bleeding but no pain, I did the follow up dye test 9 months later and was told my tubes were fully blocked. I have since had no problems at all I am very happy with my choice to have Essure and I had a wonderful doctor that recommended it for my particular situation. I think with every procedure there are always potiential risk but I think one person's experience should not affect someone else choice of having Essure done. After reading these stories I will however follow up with my doctor to make sure mines are still in place but besides that I do not regret my decision and i would recommend Essure based on my experience

      Hello!
I was just reading your article and was very disturbed by what I read. I had the essure proedure done in 2009 and in 2011 started having problems that I relate to essure even though my doctors do not. I'm going through many of the same things that you did. I have had constant stomach pain since April of this year and have been to the meergency room half a dozen times. Everytiime they give me a different reason for my stomach pain. First, it was they thought I had gall stones which turned out not to be. Now they are thinking kidney stones because I too have blood in my urine. After reading your post I am starting to think that maybe my coils too have moved and are somewhere in my stomach where they shouldnt be. I was hoping maybe we could talk and compare symptoms as well as I was wondering the time frame from when you had your coils put in to when you found out it was attached to your abdomen??? I hope I hear from you soon as I have an appointment next week for a cat scan and a cystoscopy to see if its kidney stones which I do not believe it is.

Hi everyone! I had essure done in Feb. 2011. My question is anyone out there have any bad pains in stomach and back and then i thought it was my period but it's not it's just like big blood clots and nothing like a period would be. My period is clockwork and this is a week before I was to start so if anyone has any information about having these problems get ahold of me on here. Thank you.

I must share bacause there is not enough info out there about failure. Same as others got the procedure done, and no mine was not an in and out...I got sedated completly took half a day just to do. Another subject, but back to essure, the first 3 months - one of my tubes was still unblocked - oclusion failed on one tube. so md suggested it sould be one of those that takes 6 mos to seal, waited six months got another HSG done( by the way the most painful procedure everdone. Natural birthing was tolerable but to go through HSG...NEVER again!) Final result not blocked! Back to my doctor and this time she tells me thinks she had some issues inserting one of the coils and belives it just simply fell out. According to her, one of my tube is slightly slanted therefore not a good host for the coils. After months of waiting, unpleasent procedures, and ridicoulous billing issues - I would simply go with tubal ligation. You know it's final and you don't have the uncertainty of coils that might or might not be embedded in your body. HORRIBLE experience! Send your husband in for the vasectomy, you have gone trhough enough!

i had the essure procedure done in feb of 2011 and now i am wondering if i may be pregnant. I already have 3 kids so I know what the symptoms are and right now I am experiencing some of them. I'm affraid to take a test because of what the outcome might be. I trusted my doctor when he told me this was going to be 100% perment. My other issue is since I had the procedure done I have not had a period. Has anybody else not had a period?

Coil poking thru tube into uterus....

I got the Essure placed about 3 years ago..didnt have any problems until Nov 2011. I started bleeding, wouldnt stop..I had a period for 6 months , became anemic in the process..I finally go to the Dr. they do an ultrasound and see that one of the coils has broke through my tube and is poking into my uterus. I had the dye test done and they both are blocked. Next month my Dr. has to go in and remove both coils and then do a full tubal on me and then they are going to burn the lining of my uterus...I got the Essure because I did not want to go through the operation of a tubal...Now I am really mad...I have had non stop cramping..sex hurts like ****..they have me on BC Pills to try to get the bleeding under control...Its a mess....

Sometimes I feel so angry about these replies..

Where we as women feel we are safe, in someone's hands.

That we do something to ensure we are safe, yet suffer.

Going back a year or more, can't recall... It seemed to boil down to training, in-suficient training given to Doctors as to the "botched" jobs.

I can only suggest that all of you seek advice.

It's not fair in my opinion and it's not right to suffer like this.

I had them put in in July of 2010, I had normal cycles and normal pms...now I have been bleeding 20+ days a month since January when I started trying to lose weight for my 30th bday. I have bled so heavily the last 3 days and I am seeing my doc on wed. I am also looking into a product liabillity case against Essure. I also had this done because I have to much scar tissue from c sections to have a tubal. But now its looking like I am going to have to have the essures removed with my tubes and have my uterus burned to stop the bleeding. I feel your pain, literally.

I have clots all the time now even when i am not supposed to be on my cycle. I have taken to just wearing pads all the time. I had the Essure done in July of 10 and now I think it is starting to come out. Be careful. Have your tubes checked!
