forgot to mention that Im not "allergic" to my husbands sperm either, hes in the Navy so Ive tried doing treatments while hes gone on deployments and it still never goes away, Im sure it is possible for some of you ladies to be allergic to your partner but even virgins have this problem so once you rule that out start thinking of other causes...

Does anyone know anyone who has reported successful treatment of BV with antibiotics? I've just finished mine (this is my first encounter with BV) and I'm still experiencing a bit of discomfort (there's no smell though).

All I keep reading online is how antibiotics never work permanently and so many women have been dealing with this for years. I had never even heard of this until a few weeks ago.

i spoke to my gynae the other day. The antibiotics (ie metronizadole) kill the bad bacteria as well as the good so it doesn't really solve the problem i've suffered with this for over ten years and the only thing i found that works is the cider vinigar i have used it once a week for the last month and i have had no discomfort no smell nothing. My "cleaning system" wasn't working properly before but it is now working.

For all of you who have been dealing with this for years, what has it done to your sex life? Can you have sex without a condom?
This all seems to have started after having unprotected sex for the first time, with my fiance. He was diagnosed with an NSU and I with BV. There's no way to know which came first, but I read that men who have sex with women with BV can get NSUs. I need to know, and so does he, how this will impact our lives.

OK... So I am new to this web site and I have to say that I am a little scared!! I am 26 and I have only had 2 yeast infection in my life!!! This is really embarrasing but I am just going to say it.... In April I had my first threesome with a gentlemen and my husband. After that night, the very next night, I knew something was off, my vagina smelled like throw up! I told my husband that something was up but figured it was the use of the condom, since I have had my tubes tied and my husband and I never use them... I waited about 4 weeks and finally the odor was SOOO bad I went to the dr. They told me they found BV and they gave me metronidazole, it worked for a bit... About 1 week ago I started to notice an order again.. I went to the drs again yesterday and again they found bv and I am on the same meds again. They are also treating my husband! After reading what everyone has written I have to say I am scared this is never going to go away!!! I also have an IUD... I have had it for 4 years.. What do I do??? What did I do to get this? WHy all of a sudden did this just come on!! I have had three boys with out have this... what is going on??? How do I get rid of it????

Also.. I am taking 1500MG a day of that med! Every where else I have read women have mentioned taking 1000mg a day! Wondering if I should be worried about that!

Some people are alergic to latex, did you tell your Doctor that you recently used a condom where otherwise, you don't usually?

If not the condom the lube you used may have helped cause this, just be patient and I suggest you take the dosage your Doctor has told you to take, perhaps also try some natural yoghurt down there as well if you are heck bent on trying to rid of it sooner, also wear very lose panties and no tight jeans...

Thanks for the advice. I am not trying to get rid of it sooner just trying not to get it again! This is twice now in 3 months!!! I have used condoms before so I am sure that is not the problem!! I am just worried now that this is something I am going to get all the time! Thanks again!

Hi, I have been reading on BV the entire day. What i dont see anyone writing about is what I am suffering from, which is pain! A bad sense of cramping all the way across my lower abdominal area, and three months in a row I have had severe pain with bright red blood at the very beginning of my cycle. The pain is very bad...around an 8! And I also get cramping with some orgasims, and i even have had it all day today. I have been treated twice now for BV (and i did have the horrible smell and a little discharge). but my main complaint is the pain/cramps. So what do you all think? If i have a cyst - do i have to be hospitalized to have it removed? I am 52 and never had any problems (much less yeast infections) my entire life until last one year. Thanks for your input!

                      Questions about tea tree oil.

What's the best method of inserting this stuff? Most people say to dilute it and some say to do this with Vitamin E oil. The jar of Vitamin E that I have is extremely thick. Is tea tree oil a similar consistency? It seems weird to put that inside your body.
Would it be effective to dilute the tea tree oil with water and squirt it in?
