* want to add I don't think facial cumshots are degrading in a relationship where thats what both people want and enjoy.... I am saying in some of those movies where you see a young lady getting sprayed in the face by some guy holding a cam corder that picked her up at a bus stop, the intent is degradation, not kinky love.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going. -
They ARE gettin paid for it though. In the past I worked jobs in the service industry (*shudder*) that I felt were degrading in nature and also I had to put up with bein treated in a degrading manner by bosses etc. At the end of the day though, I got paid for it. And women in pornography get paid VERY well, even at the lower ends of professional porn.* want to add I don't think facial cumshots are degrading in a relationship where thats what both people want and enjoy.... I am saying in some of those movies where you see a young lady getting sprayed in the face by some guy holding a cam corder that picked her up at a bus stop, the intent is degradation, not kinky love.
Say what you like, if they agree to it and are compensated accordingly, what's the matter? I don't think anyone here is to judge who is damaged or sick based on their involvement in porn. By that logic, anyone watching it and enjoying it is arguably more damaged and these people are your boyfriends and husbands.Comment

Touche, though I don't recall using the words "all", you do have a strong point. My only issue is the assumption that it's there only cause guys want it, and not admitting that on some level, the women who do it, do it by choice, and at least some enjoy what they do, or the money they make while doing it. Yea they may have regrets about it after the fact, but that could be said about white/blue collar workers who have regrets about how they spent their lives in pursuit of a paycheck, hindsight changes a lot of things after all.Ever seen some interviews with some ex porn stars? A lot of ladies still in the industry in some form, either becoming owners of their own studio a la jenna jameson (who still acts occasionally anyway) or current actresses are of course going to say they love what they do -- they are still getting paid. They wouldn't get booked anymore if they were on oprah talking about how disgusting it made them feel and how they have to be coked up not to want to jump out a window.
Take a look at traci lords, linda lovelace (sp, the actress from "deep throat") among several others that are no longer in the industry, no longer profiting from it, and speak with regret and painful memories of what 1. lead them into the industry and 2. the actual things they did for money.
Bottom line, especially in these times, if there wasn't a woman WILLING to do it (whatever her reasons), mainstream (legal) porn wouldn't exist.Comment

I totally agree with you newhere.
And feminist.. I am not saying they are all damaged, I am saying that a lot of women in the sex industry have a history of physical abuse and or drug addictions. Many, especially in areas with lots of economic hardships, have very poor families that they are supporting.
Its a job, they are getting paid. Its just there's a reason you don't see people peeing on someones face routinely in a restaurant, or getting head at the atm. Sexual things are considered private, be they devient or not. And women, especially, are in many cultures , including modern society... have their worth defined by their sexuality.
For most people, it would not be easy to do what they do, sure for some its a walk in the park and they have no shame and no drugs and no history of abuse but by and large thats not the case.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment

... but that doesn't give men a reason to buy what these kind of women sell. If men know that it's such women who do this then why do they fall for it? Are they naive and used by those women or do they actually like this? I think the latter...Your not totally wrong, but that is far from being the sole driving reason. Ever seen an interview witha pornstar? It's shocking how many women actually enjoy what they do, enjoy being oogled as they pose and model and sleep with their work buddies, same goes for several non-nude models. Many admit to a feel of empowerment, being able to literally demand attention simply by flashing parts of their anatomy. Same goes for the girl in college that wears a low cut top or a short skirt to sway some attention her way, i'm sorry, but many of these women know exactly what they are doing and enjoy being the one's in control of the game. Assuming that the market only exists solely because of the male demand for it is, and sorry to say, extremely ignorant and biased.Comment

This is the same argument as one could use against prostitution. Personally, I don't see any difference between prostitutes and porn stars: they both sell their body for sex. You can also say that there are prostitutes who enjoy their job (I've read such interviews in the newspaper).
Now, if we want to argue about why prostitution exists... let's just start a new thread.Comment

6 pages later i am starting to be concerned we may have drifted from the original point of the thread. So to help Vishta i would say I personally do not view pornography during masturbation but it does appear as if a vast majority of men do and seems to be extremely common."I met in the street a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat worn, his cloak was out at the elbows, the water passed through his shoes, - and the stars through his soul."- Victor HugoComment

for me personally porn is a result of me and my wife having different sex drives. I watch and masturbate to a variety of different porn but never see it as a replacment for sex with my wife for me it is definately a second option. Also I watch porn with women of all different shapes and sizes as variety is nice but I don't ever fantasise that my wife looked like the women I see in porn.
I would say that generally men would like women to be happy to watch porn with us sometimes but we will always want and be happy watching porn by ourselves at times.Comment

Ah but rarely in these professions does anyone make $1000+ in an hour. And for extreme things like peeing etc, the fee would be several times that. They are compensated well. I'm a student, if someone wanted to film me avin degrading sex with a stranger and pay me several thousand pounds for it, I'd definitely do it! Many girls in my position clearly feel the same.
That's not something everyone will agree with. We've all discussed our sexual habits to an extent in this debate and that of our loved ones (eg, my bfs in bed but he's still always jackin it). So it does depend on how you feel about that personally.Sexual things are considered private, be they devient or not.Comment
