We all have flaws and are bound to fail at times no matter how hard we try. As long as your point of view view on love is shared by your girlfriend it can't be all that bad, can it?

It's all about finding the person who can accept your flaws or someone you would want to change those flaws for.

I am actually really lucky to have finally found a woman who completely shares how i feel about love and relationships. Which makes it so nice, my gosh. I have had my fill of bad relationships that have always seemed to go one-sided, and have ALWAYS left me in serious pain and questioning if what i believed truly was just a fairy tale. I can't explaint to you how nice it is to enter into, not just a relationship with someone, but a real PARTNERSHIP in love. I could go on and on about how cool it is but i'm gonna stop typing because i talk way too much when i get going :-) let me just say...we are that type of couple who annoy our friends because we just simply can't leave each other alone. We compete to serve the other. It's wonderful ;-)

You should know that it is men here, like yourself, who express these kinds of feelings, that keep me and I'm sure some other women, from giving up on men and relationships entirely. You have expressed just what I have always felt should be but have never found a man who wants the same. You can't imagine how much it can hurt to have a man work at drawing you close when you first meet and then doing a complete turn around as soon as he sees that he has your affection. What you are describing is what I believe women and men are meant to be to each other. I wish you continued joy and love.

Six years ago I could have very easily wrote that same post. It's nice to see that there are others who have found what they have dreamed of and wished for.

Don't take these things for granted.

you shouldn't be insecure on the porn thing, men really love to watch porn you have to accept that, watching it doesn't mean he's not satisfied or not turned on to you.

I agree with you so much. It saddens me when things change as soon as the 'chase' is over and he has your attention and affection. I am sooo happy with my boyfriend. he loves and respects me 100% - but there is always a part of me that wishes he would occasionally revert back to how he was during the 1st month of our relationship.

I actually can completely relate to what you are saying because, believe it or not, there are women who suffer from the same stupidities as a lot of men do ;-) I have had several relationships that, looking back, only happened so the girl could take and take and take from me and never return. I was so blind to it for so long because i was so eager to give. Until i realized it was never mutual. It took 4 years, unfortunately but i honestly don't regret it happening because i am a more understanding person because of it. I'm really glad to hear other people feel the way i described how i believe love should be. It makes me hopeful for us as human beings :-)

I think we as guys struggle with that so much. When we first meet a woman we are so excited and the chase is on! But once the elusive creature we once sought after so intensely is captured and is ours, we let off the gas and become complacent and comfortable in our relationship. It becomes easy for us to say "well she loves me no matter what, even if i put out minimal effort". I think what we fail to understand is that the adventure has just begun :-) I can honestly say that courting and finally capturing the girl i have now, was a wonderful thrill..but it PALES in comparison to the adeventures and thrills i have making her feel like she is the queen of the universe. Like she is still a wild animal and i am chasing after her with everything i have! bringing my A-game every single day. To make sure when i wake up beside her every day to look at her still sleeping and tell myself "wow..look at what i have..SHE..loves ME??." To still be cheesey and goofy even when my guy friends think i'm retarded. There is so much fun and adventure in not just falling in love, but staying CRAZY about her...

ocularone, that's great you feel that way about her. How long have you two been together? How old are you two?
                    Keep up the positive outlook.

Just a warning though: after marriage, kids, braces, car payments, mortgage, both working to make ends meet, things will get tougher, and much more work on both your parts will be needed to keep the relationship going strong. Giving birth, birth control pills, midnight feedings, etc. are all reality. It's the way you and your SO choose to deal with life and still make time for each other that will keep your relationship strong. When she starts telling you "I'm tired" or "get away" your view on porn might change. As long as both of you are on the same page as far as expectations in your relationship, even after life gets in the way, you two should be fine.

While this is true in a LOT of cases, it's not necessarily true in all cases. Let's hope that this doesn't happen in his case.

You are correct though, when new responsibilities arise in a relationship it does tend to take more effort.
There is a method to my madness ........ I just haven't found it yet.
