what is it? -
So you are basically making a generalization that porn viewers don't possess qualities such as integrity, morality, virtue, honour, classiness, and refinement? Thats a pretty big generalization don't you think? Not all porn viewers lack those qualities. However, I can't speak for porn producers, actors, or actresses.Comment

let me switch gears for just a minute -
while i enjoy the debate about porn (because i'm conceited & i think i'm right - sorry), let me put down my weapon for a moment. rather than try to talk you (collective) into an opinion or perspective...
i'm just so curious about this. porn - and i've seen a LOT of it - seems to me to be invariably made for men. i know women watch it too - i would think pornographers see that as icing on the cake. but the cake - the target audience - is decidedly men.
without being explicit, what is it that you, who are women, find appealing about porn? please be specific, but not obscene. i understand how it hooks guys - but what is it that women look for in porn?
not as a couple - i'm talking about those of you who have commented that you enjoy it alone.
why & what?Comment

i watch it because i love sex, i love doing it so i love watching it! and no it is not all about the woman being chewed up and spat out! to state this shows how little you know about porn scenes.
i have plenty of dvds were the women call the shots.
oh and the little comment about porn viewers wanting someone else is not true!
i have never wanted anyone else and i watch porn.
so wilhelm did you want someone else when you watched porn? if so you are only speaking for yourself not everyone else!Comment

i only wish i knew little about them.
for the record, the producers of porn dvd's disagree with you on this point.
but anyway...
you may not want someone else, as in you want to be married to them instead of your husband, but you're getting sexual pleasure from someone else.
i don't remember that comment, if it was mine - to answer you, though. no, i didn't want someone else specifically in real life. in fantasy, i wanted whomever i was watching. one danger is that guys can - through fantasy - scroll through any number of variable characteristics of girls, imagining sex with hundreds of different people in an hour. hair color, shape, size, sex acts, etc.
click, click, click - instant acceptance or denial of what you're seeing, limited only by the speed of your connection. in other words, my time with porn was spent messaging whatever my sexual fantasies & desires dictated, at the very second they dictated them. all of this with no concern or thought about anyone - ANYONE - other than me.
my wife is a real person, with desires of her own. she isn't able to change shape, hair length, age, position, or willingness according to my every whim.
did i want someone else? probably something else, more accurately.
so do you - otherwise you wouldn't waste your time looking at it. if it didn't give you what you want, you would not look at it. you're not getting paid. you're not fulfilling an obligation.
the only reward you're getting from porn is...

in answer! pleasure!
and do not tell me what i think or want!
also i do not care what rubbish you have read about porn producers!
also you are fooling no one! to claim that you never even think about the opposite sex in a sexual manner, means you are a liar!
everyone looks! everyone! any one who claims otherwise is a bare faced liar! that or abnormal.Comment

hd,
you sound maniacal. relax.
"also i do not care what rubbish you have read about porn producers!"
this just means that your opinion is based on less than the facts, which is fine. i knew that all along. you're just admitting it by ignoring blatant evidence.
i wonder if you would be willing to "put your money where your mouth is." you have a collection of porn dvd's, right? why don't you transcribe for us the titles & descriptions on the back of the boxes. then we can decide for ourselves whether porn is typically degrading to women - based entirely on YOUR porn, not anything i would try to bring to the discussion.
unless you have vivid stuff, the "couples porn." which is equally harmful to the participants, but strategically marketed in a more tasteful & palatable manner.
now this is dangerous for my argument because you could have couples porn & the boxes could be covered with romantic, steamy prose that no one will find offensive. you could also lie.
either way - i'm so sure of my point that i'm willing to lay the ball at your feet.
go ahead, dizzle. take a shot.Comment

lol! is that your idea of evidence, some porn producer made a statement so that means he speaks for all porn producers!
come on! you need to do better than that!
like i have already stated most women in porn know what they are doing and they certainly know what they are letting themselves in for! so the abuse theory goes out the window.
of course they will always be sickos in the world who get off on sick stuff, thats why snuff movies exsist, it does not mean all porn is bad or the stars are abused.
the sad fact is abuse exsists every where, the most common place being a womans own home! so should women not get married?
you think porn should not exsist because you believe all the women are not smart enough to make their own choices, and are being abused! this is not true!
not all marriages are abusive! but many are, so should they all be forbidden?
oh and i am not going to waste my time going through my dvd collection, because you will find fault with it anyway!
you will never change my view! so i would stop trying.Comment

OK, fair enough.
but my suggestion was that you show us all how the producers were marketing the porn you have - just to prove to everyone that you're right, that porn is not all degrading.
if you were willing to expose it, you would have to recognize it for what it is.
my guess is that is why you're not willing to do it.
the evidence is right in front of you.Comment
