I think it may have to do with the way some men perceive a woman pursuing them - like quick, easy fun. He might not even have viewed it as cheating since it was just sexual. He wasn't "dating" you.

That's more reason why I don't want to pursue . I'm sure if it's his girl at the time found out, she would see sexual affairs as cheating

For Magnetism, what a winner! Glad you aren't having anything to do with him.

Really happy to hear this outcome for resolution's sake. Between you and katz, we've got two really determined women here who've gone out and gotten the answers they need to move on (even if in different ways). Much approval and admiration.

Closure is such a wonderful thing. You took a huge risk to your ego and it paid off in a big way. My congratulations.

If anyone has advice on how to get over being someone's side girl (without not knowing it), that would be great. This man's character has made him very unattractive. I value loyalty, authenticity and empathy, which he lacked. I am still in shock of how I didn't know the truth for months, and how I got so upset over it.

Yeah, goes to show that women don't need to waste energy on things that don't work out. Still can't get over what a scumbag he is.

Magnetism, unfortunately he is representative of how some guys think. They believe the world revolves around them and that they can do no wrong. Your gut told you it wouldn't work. Get more in tune with your gut.

This is why I feel that having healthy boundaries and self-respect will help you avoid such characters. It also seems like my generation gets hostile on waiting to have sex. They want to do it right away. Sure, I have a high sex drive....but I think it's best to wait when developing a relationship. This situation also screams that doing it so soon isn't in my best interest.

I also feel upset, because my dignity got thrown out of the window.....all because of some therapist that thought that I should be forward. I'm glad that guy honestly told me that I didn't do anything wrong. I felt very low and depressed for so many months. Still, this situation could have been avoided if I STUCK TO MY BELIEFS AND DIDN'T LET SOMEONE TALK ME TO INTO IT.
