Don't let someone "put the blame on you"... And, he will... He will turn it around and that's called, "getting out of it, refusing to take the blame"...

You have invested alot of time but it appears that he has abused and used that, has tried to stop some things only to continue in another fashion, perhaps to appease you as he has been rewarded living with you, financially, mentally and has also had his Mum there, doing all his washing/cleaning WITHOUT giving you ANYTHING...

    Vent away

    It's healthy sweet.

Alright! So here's what we do.

We leave this man, learn from the relationship, have a fantastic wonderful amazing holiday at home with the family, and then we start life fresh.

You're young, you're sensible, you're attractive... He doesn't deserve you, and you don't deserve all this mental pain.

Go and have fun, enjoy being single for a while, do crazy things with your girlfriends, and then find a man who actually deserves you.

          It ain't this guy...

It's called respect and compromising... He doesn't respect your thoughts and he refuses to compromise, you're compromising his "addiction" and so you have to go because the addiction isn't going anywhere. Tell him that.

To be honest it sounds a little bit like mental abuse, various threats if you leave and all that.

They say that it takes about 7 tries to leave a mentally abusive partner.

I tried a handful of times to leave my ex boyfriend, and each time got told something like "you can't do this, we're finished if you do this, I won't accept this," blah blah blah.

Until finally HE left ME. Which left me feeling frustrated and angry, how dare he ignore ME when I tried to leave, and then turn it around and dump me like I'M the one with problems?

Just hurry up and leave him, what are you waiting for? You've already come to the conclusion that nothing is going to change.
