    Congratulations Crystalblue,
I think you are making real progress. Even though you think it is slow.

Sometimes it sounds like you are living with a teenager and I guess it is always going to be tough from that perspective.
There are always going to be good days and bad days but it sounds like you are having at least few good days and he is sometimes making an effort.

Keep chipping away. Maybe try to get another day of activity like the basketball or get back to the walking.

      And did he reply?

And, if not, has he slowed down on the playing again after that comment?
He just said ok. I told him everything I needed to in that one comment, so it made me feel like I was letting go of it instead of holding it back. He cut back on playing ff. Actually haven't even seen him on in about a week, but he's still playing other games. I'm still considering it a work in progress, progress being the key word.

Thanks oxy. Starting to see more good days than bad. I've been inviting him to go walk with me about once a week, but hasn't worked out yet. I'll keep trying though.

Last Friday he talked with his friend about getting together to talk with him about what we're going through. He didn't get into detail, but didn't really have to. His friend is my friend's husband, so he already knows what's going on. Lol. Still waiting for him to actually set it up, but like I said, progress and baby steps.

I went to my first Alanon meeting this evening. It was interesting, and I met a great group of people. Most importantly, they were all focused on working on themselves for the changes they needed. They seemed mentally healthy, and I feel like I can really learn a lot from them.

I Asked my friend about tagging along with her so I could learn the ropes, and not feel completely alone going into the meeting, and she took me out with the group to chat & get to know some of the members a little better afterwards.

It wasn't really what I expected, but in a good way. Lol. I thought it was gonna be a bunch of bashing family members and friends about their addictions. I really liked where the focus was at, and think it'll help me a bunch.

I know it won't last forever, but hopefully just long enough for us to get some good together time going. I can still hope he'll realize which is more important and worth while for our relationship. When the upgrade does come, maybe we'll have a stronger system in place than the xbox can compete with.

I know there's some danger of disappointment, but I'm going to push all that to the side and work with what's going on right now. And right now, a distraction has been taken out of the picture. So far, I haven't been openly happy about his toy breaking, at least not in front of him. Lol. I don't wanna rub it in, but I really feel like this is a great opportunity to break some bad habits and add in some good ones.

PS: thanks for the defense on this CW. My only thoughts on this are that there is almost nothing I have flat refused to do with my husband. He's the only one I've ever had sex with and I get all my "experimentation" done with him. It's not too much to ask that he does the same if we're going to be together. If that's not enough, I have nothing left to give, and I don't have to look back and wonder if I could have done more.

That's the only closure you need, the one that says "I gave 100%" because in that knowing if you do end up moving on, you can feel fine about it without hesitation......

He turned down another walk this evening. I called a friend and went anyway. I'm really enjoying this new side of myself where I can go out and do whatever, without his refusal holding me back. I get frustrated that it's a reoccurring refusal, but I can't control what he does. I'm just glad I'm not letting it control what I do anymore.
