Hi i am new to this site !! I dont know where to begin i had the essure procedure in november 2010 after having 4 children i thought this was the right way to go . How wrong was i !! I went for my scan 3 months later and the hospital told me my tubes were blocked .

I always was regular with my cycles never had any troubles at all but since having this procedure i spot most of the month and have a heavy period as well, i also have a constant dull ache/tenderness in the left side and my stomach swells up too i have been to the drs numerous times and have just been again this morning has i have had the usual spotting but i have not had a period and i should have started my period on sat ,The drs yet again have given me tablets for period pain ( which i know it is not period pains) and they want me to also go on the mini pill to try and sort the spotting out if that does not work they have mentioned having a coil fitted !!

I could have had the coil fitte before or even just stayed on the pill .
I dont know what to do now i am so glad i have found this site has i now know i am not going mad and there are others in the same boat as me !!
just wish i had seen it before i had the procedure doneand really looked into it properly than trusting the dr.

Thank u for listening and sorry for the vent .

I am kathy withrow, I had my essure done 5 years ago and from the get go i had pain, i told the doctor he told me i could not feel them they were so thin and there was nothing poking me, He did not schedule me for the 3 month dye test, And now on my period whatever ovary im ovulating from it hurts real bad, And have been dealing with this for many years, Doctors have told me theres no side effects, And they tell me they can not take out the essure without removing my tubes. They say this is sterilization 100% but now i live with pain and possibly pregnant, Ladies i read on a website they essure can make a hole in your stomach wall and the egg can fall through there and you can get pregnant this way. Please if you do not have an essure do not get it i regret it now, And now no doctor will help me!

Things too look out for: The brochure and website says, They are done in the doctors office with no surgery. My doctor put me in an operating room had an operating team, Was put too sleep, And my doctor cut my tubes placed the essure in, And when i woke up i had blood clots the size of eggs they said that was normal kept me for 5 hours, And he told me this way of doing the essure is better than the brochure way. So when they say you do not need surgery from the brochure you do not, Do not let a doctor do this too you.

That is horrible Kathy i did not see my xray they just said yes everything is fine at ,y 3 month check i did not have the surgery way like u did.I cannot understand why they did it that way. Mine was internally in the outpatients of my hospital.

When i went for my consultation before the op they said it can reverse it but there are risks and it would cost £5000 cos i would have to go private if i was u try and get a second opinion ( mind u i have seen 3 different drs at my surgery and nothing).

My drs just keep passing me off too and now i dont know where to turn i think as women we know when there is something not right. Yesterday afternoon the pain was all across i swellt up to the size of a pregnant woman i just suppose this is how i am going to be from now on and just keep taking the tabs that the drs keep giving me .

My thoughts are with u kathy !!

and i agree i strongly advise people not to have this done without properly looking into it .

OMG is all I can say. I had Essure place over a year ago. One of the coils perforated my tube so my doctor went in and repaired my tube and cut the other coil out so it wouldn't do the same. He could not find the missing coil, he guessed it was somewhere in some scar tissue I had from a previous C-Section. Since placement I have had back lower back pain, and over a year later is has gotten so bad I can't hardly pick my kids up or get out of bed, I roll out! Doing some research I found woman with all types of problems from the procedure. I now fill like a "test rat" to the company. I have called over 20 doctors that still do the procedure to get a second opinion and to see if they can tell me what's going on but once they here about the complication I had they tell me to see my original doctor. It just doesn't seem to be an end in sight!
