After 133 hours of research and hands-on testing, we found the best vibrating panties that delivered naughty fun discreetly in public or private wirelessly.

Updated:January 2023

Out of nowhere, your bits are tickled in the most delicious of ways from a sudden rumbling vibration that the rest of the world is completely oblivious to.

The best part?

Your partner is the only other person in the room who is in on the fun because they are controlling your pleasure…remotely.

Vibrating panties – also known as a panty vibrator although your underwear doesn’t actually vibrate – is a discreet type of wearable vibrator that is worn beneath your clothing while being held firmly in place by underwear.

They provide sexual stimulation through wireless control and by allowing the wearer to experience pleasure anywhere — and at any time.

They are ideal for those who want to explore public sex play, spice up a long-distance sexual relationship, or simply enjoy some hands-free masturbation at home.

After 133 hours of cumulative research and personal testing by our team over the last two years, we’ve concluded that the We-Vibe Moxie and the Satisyfer Little Secret Panty are the two best vibrating panties available.

We’ll explain what makes a good panty vibrator, which ones didn’t make our list — and why.

Important Things To Know:

  • Safety: Our recommendations are crafted from 100% body-safe materials — primarily silicone or ABS plastic — and do NOT contain unsafe materials like phthalates, TPR blends (“fake silicone”) polyvinyl chloride (PVC), bisphenol A (BPA), jelly rubber, or rubber, which are porous and cannot be sterilized, and in some cases, have the potential to leach potentially harmful chemicals during use.
  • How we chose: When choosing the best vibrating panties, 3 members of our team weighed and tested: their materials, construction, remote operation and/or app connectivity, power supply, charging time and battery life, vibration versatility, sound level, size and fit, ease of cleaning, water resistance if applicable, and of course, their performance and ability to deliver orgasms.
  • Panty vibrators we considered: Over 2+ years, 87 panty vibrators (including eggs and bullets that can be worn inside the underwear) were considered from 31 parent brands. While 38 total products made our final cuts, only 8 met our strictest criteria for personal testing.

Bottom Line: The We-Vibe Moxie is our favorite panty vibrator because it firmly locks in place, offers strong vibrations, is 100% waterproof – AND works reliably over short (up to 30’ with the remote) or long distances (app). Operating between 44.9 and 52.4 decibels depending on the setting used, no one has to know what kinds of sexy, kinky games you and your partner are playing together. The fit of the vibrator is not only incredibly comfortable and secure thanks to the strong magnet that holds it firmly in place, but it delivers powerful vibrations — in ANY pair of panties you happen to be wearing. I love any sex toy that can be part of my kinky life.

The We-Vibe Moxie, which I wrote an in-depth review about, is one of the few panty vibrators I’ve ever tried where I can wear it in public, let my partner control the vibrations, and be 100% confident that no one would know what was going on…unless and until I lost control.

The vibrations are so strong even though the vibrator itself is super quiet, with a dB range between 44.9 to 52.4, depending on the setting — well below the sound level of a normal conversation.

Aerial Photograph Of A Decibel App On Phone Screen While Testing The Noise Level Of The We-Vibe Moxie

I tend to only prefer a single setting or pick the highest one I can find, but as I cycled through the settings on the remote and the app, I couldn’t find anything that didn’t feel good!

Fellow tester, Zoë Tanner agreed.

“This is SO GREAT! It gets strong and the vibrations are nice and smooth! The Moxie is my favorite, and the vibrations feel next-level great!”

When a review inspires this many exclamation points from testers — myself included — you know it’s a good one.

Aerial Photograph Of The We-Vibe Moxie In Its Box With The Lid Removed

The Moxie gives you options with both a wireless remote and a mobile app.

The remote works from about 30 feet away (~20 if your legs are crossed or there is interference from furniture or walls), and it’s super easy to use once you get the hang of the buttons.

From my experience, you’ll need to hold the button down longer than you think you need to turn it on. But after that, it’s smooth sailing.

Photograph Of The We-Vibe Moxie Connected To Its Included Magnetic Charging Cable

Unlike other panty vibrators I tried, the remote is small and discreet, and no one will notice if you do decide to take it out in public.

The We-Vibe app, while notorious for not being perfect, was actually fairly simple to use.

Product Photograph Of We-Vibe Moxie With Phone Displaying We-Connect App On ScreenYou can pair your toy with someone else who has the app — and you have control over who can access your Moxie.

If you’re in a long-distance relationship, this takes your phone sex up a notch.

After pairing the device to your smartphone, you can choose to “Connect Lover” through the We-Connect App so your partner can control your Moxie, but the vibrator has to remain within Bluetooth range of your paired smartphone to work.

As long as that’s situated, you’re good to go and your partner can connect and control your vibe from anywhere.

Let’s talk about the settings because my favorite thing about the Moxie was how pleasantly throbbing, humming, and deep the vibrations felt.

Each vibration mode has its own customizable intensity levels, so you can find the one that gives you the most pleasure, whether you’re letting your partner tease you in public or you’re simply looking for mind-blowing orgasms on your own.

This product does not come with panties, however, the vibrator’s magnetic clip easily transforms any pair of underwear into a pleasure party.

This means that you can use whatever panties fit you best and make you feel sexy.

(After trying several panty vibes with panties that just didn’t fit right, I’d much rather just wear my own with a good magnet that holds the vibrator in place.)

Out of all of the panty vibrators I tried, the Moxie had the best magnet and didn’t move around my underwear while I was playing with it.

Photograph Of We-Vibe Moxie In Hand, Showing A Close-Up-View Of The Magnets That It Uses To Attach To Underwear

I could sit, stand, and walk around with no problem.

Even better — as I moved, the sensations kept up with me so I never felt like I had to re-adjust.

Zoë had a similar experience.

“The really secure and unique clasp system can be used with all kinds of underwear,” she explained.

The Moxie’s flat, oval shape makes it perfect for attaching through underwear or swimsuit bottoms and it’s also convenient and easy to adjust if you need to.

Yes, I said swimsuit.

The Moxie is fully submersible so you can wear it in the pool or hot tub — and the IPX7 waterproof design can even withstand hot tub jets.

USB rechargeable, which takes about 90 minutes, you’ll be able to play for up to 2 hours on a full charge — which means you don’t have to rush to find the best spots to tease and play.

Made from body-safe silicone with a sleek and flat design that fits in the palm of your hand, this vibrating panty teaser makes for a perfect travel companion in your carry-on bag or purse — wherever you go.

Bottom Line: Although it includes a remote, the app offers so much to enjoy — including functions for syncing to music AND erotica, offering pleasure and excitement that’s far beyond the typical patterns and intensity most panty vibes provide. Both the app and remote can be used discreetly in public and in our experience, the music function works best with songs that have deeper, thumping beats. This one is easy to use and highly versatile, and the icing on the cake is the low price.

I was unsure what to expect from the Satisfyer Little Secret Panty, but I didn’t have high hopes for it sitting against my clit or remaining secure in my panties.

To my surprise, it managed both with no problems.

Photograph Of Kayla Holding The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty Vibrator In Her Hand While Talking About It

The vibrations weren’t quite as strong as our top pick the We-Vibe Moxie but they were stimulating nonetheless.

In my experience, the sensations from the Secret Panty felt more intense whenever I sat down.

My husband, who loves to engage in public play, found the remote extremely discreet, and the sound level from the vibrator is virtually silent, ranging from 43.2 to 47.0 dB (well within the best range for quiet vibrators).

Aerial Photograph Of Decibel App On Phone Screen While Testing The Sound Level Of The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty

Additionally, he was able to push the buttons with the remote in his pocket without it looking like he was doing something in his pocket.

(We can have a discussion on the size of pockets in men’s versus women’s clothing another day.)

The Satisfyer app was a pleasant surprise, although it wasn’t perfect — it connected (and stayed that way) well enough, but syncing to music was disappointing at times and I’ll elaborate more on that below.

Aerial Photograph Of Hands Holding The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty And Its Slim Remote Control

It’s worth noting that the app’s overall adjustability is off the charts for a vibrator at this price point — it lets you use the touch screen on your phone to create custom vibrations and save them for later but it also includes pre-programmed settings, as well.

Although the remote operates from a distance of 30’ (reliably) and up to 50’ depending on walls or other outside interference, the Satisfyer Connect App allows partner control from anywhere beyond that range — although device pairing and login to the app are required.

I generally never like to use apps, but in my experience (and that of our other testers), it paired easily and stayed connected during use.

Although it’s great for partnered play, you can even listen to erotic stories with vibrations timed for the best parts when using the app by yourself.

The Satisfyer app ALSO lets you connect your playlist and use music to inspire the vibrations if you prefer.

Photograph Of Satisfyer Little Secret Panty Detached From Its Magnet, Which Holds It In Place When Being Worn In Underwear

I connected through Spotify but found this left something to be desired (literally) because the vibrations only came through on music that had a driving, thumping beat.

It didn’t work well on anything slower or softer, which was disappointing — especially if you like romantic or erotic slow jams, this might not function as well as you’d expect.

The Satisfyer is USB rechargeable with a magnetic connector.

The upside is that this makes the vibrator fully submersible in water — it is 100% waterproof.

Photograph Of The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty In Clear Glass Bowl Of Water To Demonstrate Its Waterproof Feature

The downside is that you have to set your toy down and connect the magnet charger just so in order to get it to charge and it can take up to 3 hours to do so (and 3.5 in “exceptional cases,” according to Satisfyer).

Photograph Of Hands Holding The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty Vibrator Attached To Its Magnetic Charging Cable

This makes us wonder whether the charging time relates to a loose connection between the magnetic charger and the vibrator, or the way it conducts the charge.

Even with the imperfections and the little bit it lacks, this is a great option for anyone on a budget — and it’s a lot of fun to use.

Panty Vibrators That Didn’t Make Our List

Vibrating Panties That Didn’t Make Our List

We initially explored 87 unique panty vibrators (including eggs and bullets that can be worn inside underwear) from 31 sex toy manufacturers that included:

  • LELO
  • Satisfyer
  • Evolved
  • OhMiBod (LoveLife Toys)
  • Screaming O
  • X-Gen (Secrets, Love Distance)
  • We-Vibe
  • Romp
  • Lovense
  • XR Brands
  • Pipedream (Fetish Fantasy, Fantasy For Her)
  • CalExotics
  • Fifty Shades
  • Mantric Sex Toys
  • Svakom
  • Clandestine Devices
  • Lovehoney (Desire)
  • Adam & Eve
  • PinkCherry
  • TooTimid
  • Inya
  • Dame
  • Nü Sensuelle
  • New York Toy Collective
  • VibrO
  • Rocks Off (Knickerbocker)
  • Maia (Sativa)
  • Niki
  • Frisky (Naughty Knickers)
  • Blush (Temptasia)
  • Frederick’s Of Hollywood

When selecting panty vibrators for testing, we began by:

  • Researching their materials to make sure they were indeed made from exactly what they claimed to be
  • Considering aggregate reviews from real customers and experience-based suggestions from members of our team
  • Exploring the versatility and fit of the vibrators themselves, especially if they included underwear
  • Weighing each product’s features, functionality (including app connectivity, if applicable), pros and cons, and price point to consider which products were worth testing personally — and why

Our team then tested the top eight products that rated highest across all of the aforementioned considerations.

After it was all said and done, we selected and tested panty vibrators from We-Vibe, CalExotics, Satisfyer, Screaming O, LELO, Adam & Eve, OhMiBod, and Evolved.

The other companies we listed above don’t necessarily manufacture poor products, however, they didn’t score high enough following our initial rounds of research to be considered for personal testing.

Panty Vibrators We Tested But Did Not Recommend

Although our team tested a total of 8 panty vibrators (including eggs or bullets that can be worn inside the underwear), most of them did not make our list of top recommendations and we’ll explain the reasons why.

  • OhMiBod Club Vibe 2.Oh

Photograph Of Club Vibe 3.Oh Black Panties And Panty Vibrator With RemoteNone of our testers liked this one — despite the fact that it (supposedly) vibrates to music.

Most average women may not be able to wear the panties it comes with — and certainly not plus-size people.

The vibrator wasn’t comfortable and in our experience, “Club Mode” didn’t work with music although it DID work with voice — which was interesting, but not enough to make up for its other shortcomings.

Learn more* about Club Vibe 2.Oh or check pricing*.

  • LELO LYLA 2

Close Up Photograph Of LELO LYLA 2This feels good but didn’t personally get me off — however, the biggest issue is that it didn’t stay in place if I moved around.

At all.

One tester (Zoë) found that it worked better as an insertable egg vibrator, but as a clitoral panty vibe, it was seriously lacking.

In my experience, the vibrator is discreet but because the SenseMotion remote works best when you move it in your hand, the remote is not discreet for public play in the slightest.

Learn more* about LELO LYLA 2 or check pricing*.

  • Eve’s Rechargeable Vibrating Panty

Photograph Of Eve’s Rechargeable Vibrating Panty On Model With Vibrator And Remote To The LeftAside from needing a AAA battery (which is not included), the vibrator itself uses a magnetic charging cable — which ONLY stayed in place when the device was very carefully laid on a flat surface.

There’s nothing worse than coming back to a “charged” vibrator, only to find that it didn’t actually charge at all because the connection loosened after you set it down.

As a panty vibrator, this one was easy to use and fairly quiet — but the remote is a little larger compared to others we tested and could easily draw attention if used in public.

Learn more* about Eve’s Vibrating Panty or check pricing*.

  • Evolved Hidden Pleasure Panty Vibe

Photograph Of Evolved Hidden Pleasure Panty VibeThis includes panties that feature a ribbon tie at the hips, but they didn’t hold the vibrator against our testers’ bodies securely enough to avoid slipping.

For bedroom play — and if used with sexy panties that fit snugly — it’s fine enough.

The vibrator didn’t blow me away but that’s because I found this one to be a bit fiddly compared to others I tried.

Fellow tester, Zoë, noted that the vibrations are not especially strong. Although that’s good for those who don’t need a lot of stimulation, it’ll likely be too weak for those who do.

And unless your clothes are tight enough to hold it in place, it’s a no-go for public play.

Learn more* about Hidden Pleasure Panty Vibe or check pricing*.

  • CalExotics Lock-N-Play Panty Teaser

Photograph Of CalExotics Lock-N-Play Panty VibratorOur testing team liked this one well enough but it had some serious disadvantages that kept it from being among our top recommendations.

The magnetic wings, although smart, don’t always stay secure and they don’t fit wider panty crotches — which could be an issue for many.

Additionally, it’s not very quiet during operation and unfortunately can’t be used with an app, which severely limits its flexibility.

Learn more* about Lock-N-Play or check pricing*.

  • Screaming O Ergonomic Vibrating Panty Set

Photograph Of Screaming O Ergonomic Vibrating Panty Set On Model With Vibrator And Remote At RightAlthough this offered the most vibration settings of any panty vibrator we tried (20!) and the remote functions from up to 50’ away, this one was not as quiet as others we tested.

There is also no magnet or clip to keep the vibrator securely in place while it’s being worn inside the included panties.

For these reasons, the Screaming O — while it provides great sensations — is probably best suited for at-home play, only.

Why You Might Consider Trying These Panty Vibrators

Even though these panty vibrators didn’t meet all of our expectations, that doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t worth trying at all — or that they won’t work for you if you try them yourself.

They are still well-made sex toys that are crafted from body-safe materials you can trust — we already researched and vetted them heavily.

Panty vibrators don’t fit uniformly — whether due to the construction (or sizing) of the panties or because of the design of the vibrator itself.

In some cases, both.

Additionally, clitoral sensitivity plays an important role in the way a vibrator’s sensations are perceived — or enjoyed.

Some vibrators we tested were deep and rumbly while others just simply weren’t strong enough for our testers.

Everybody is different — so it’s best to read through real reviews (like ours) to get a sense of why a product didn’t work for someone and then apply that information to your own needs and preferences.

Why Trust Our Review

Why Trust Our Review?

Photograph Of Kayla Talking About The We-Vibe Moxie While Looking At It In Her Hand

We’ve invested 133 cumulative hours (and counting) researching, evaluating, and personally testing the best vibrating panties over the past two years in tandem with advice from our medical review board.

We began by:

  • Researching 87 panty vibrators from 31 well-known brands
  • Analyzing their construction and materials for safety
  • Considering their versatility and fit
  • Weighing aggregate reviews and personal recommendations from those on our team
  • Evaluating each product’s features and connectivity

Following the deepest round of analysis, we ended up with eight products we deemed worth testing personally.

Experts on our team (including myself, Zoë Tanner, and in some instances, Vanessa Russell) then personally tested (and scored across 31 criteria) all our finalists in real-world conditions in (and out of) the bedroom over several weeks to form a consensus.

In addition, we constantly evaluate new entries to the market as they become available.

We do not accept paid placements, and all our recommendations are brand-neutral.

For accuracy and thoroughness, we also have an expert from our medical review board evaluate all reviews.

How We Made Our Picks

How We Made Our Picks And Features We Considered

Aerial Photograph Of The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty Being Unboxed

When we began researching panty vibrators, we discovered that despite having a wide range in design and functionality, many popular products were not among those we would recommend to others.

Unsafe materials, subpar construction, wireless connectivity issues (particularly if app-driven), sizing limitations, and very poor user reviews eliminated more than half of all initial candidates.

Fit is also an important part of any panty vibrator — if it doesn’t stay securely in place when worn, it’s not going to serve its purpose well.

Although our initial list of panty vibrators included 87 products from 31 brands, we whittled that down to 38 products based on the aforementioned criteria.

After carefully considering size and fit restrictions (particularly among those products that include panties), functionality, settings and intensities, and favorable user reviews (along with suggestions from members of our own team), we narrowed our testing pool to just eight products.

But we didn’t stop there.

When choosing the best vibrating panties, features we considered included:

  • Body-Safe, Non-Porous Materials: The material any vibrating panty is made from should always be body-safe and crafted from non-toxic materials that are non-porous and easy to sterilize, like silicone and ABS plastic. This is the single most important factor and the one we considered first; all of our recommendations are made from silicone or ABS plastic. Additionally, we verified that the products claiming to be made from silicone are — and that they do not use inexpensive “fake silicone” (TPR blends) in their construction.
  • Quality Design And Construction: A panty vibrator is designed to be worn snugly against your genitals, coming into direct contact with your most intimate parts. A quality design backed by solid construction ensures your safety, along with the product’s longevity to protect your investment.
  • Distance And Range Of Remote Control: Most vibrators of this nature are controlled through a hand-held remote control whose distance of operation is typically limited to a range of 20 to 50 feet for use in intimate settings. However, those controlled through apps with internet connectivity allow a distance range that may extend to anywhere in the world. To suit the individual needs of potential users, we selected and tested products that provide both close-range and long-distance connectivity and ideally, both.
  • Reliable And Convenient Power Supply: Many vibrating panties are USB rechargeable, while others require batteries — particularly in the remote controls for those that use them. We considered vibrating panties that offer both power options, with preference given to those that are rechargeable — especially those that allow you to charge both the vibrator and the remote at the same time.
  • Battery Life And Usage Time: Our team tested the battery life of our top recommendations, bringing them to a full charge before depleting the battery on low, medium, and high to obtain an average use time for each.
  • Vibration Strength, Pattern, And Speed Range: Everybody responds to sexual stimuli differently — whether it’s deep, rumbling vibrations or light, buzzy sensations. The panty vibrators we considered offered a variety of strength, pattern, and speed settings to accommodate most people, with some offering the ability to create customizable vibrations through app connectivity.
  • Sound Level: Because panty vibrators are worn beneath your clothing and may potentially be used for public vibrator play, the maximum decibel level of any vibrating panty is a factor we considered but we also tested this personally — not just with a decibel meter, but with our partners (close up and from a distance).
  • Versatility, Size, And Fit: This includes how well the panty vibrator stays in place while being worn and how adjustable the fit is in terms of body shape. Additionally, we considered the size and fit of vibrators that include panties to ensure the most versatility across body types, giving preference to those that feature side ties for easier adjustment.
  • Ease Of Cleaning: For your health and safety, a wearable vibrator should be easy to clean effectively before and after every use. Additionally, those products that include panties should ideally be machine-washable on delicate (handwashing optional).
  • Water-Resistant Or Waterproof (When Reasonable): Although vibrating panties are mostly worn under clothing, water resistance is a concern for those who may wish to wear their panty vibrator under a swimsuit. For this reason, we considered water resistance — with less emphasis.
  • Real-World Performance: Finally, we tested how each panty vibrator performed. Members of our team evaluated vibrating panties in a variety of settings, including during masturbation and partnered play in a variety of settings and positions, keeping track of how they worked, how loud they operated, their effectiveness and ease of use, the cleaning process, and how likely they are to recommend them to others.

We feel that a quality panty vibrator is safe for your body, easy to care for, long-lasting, and of course — is hella fun to use, especially for public play.

Performance

The Performance Of Vibrating Panties

Vibrating panties vary in style and functionality so it is important to understand the options available and look carefully at their design, features, and the types of stimulation they offer when considering their performance.

From a noise perspective, the higher the setting, the more buzz you’re going to get.

This is true of just about any vibrator — whether it’s worn in your underwear or not.

So set your expectations realistically and expect at least a little noise.

As long as some ambient sound is present in the room, the device should (generally) operate quietly enough to be used in public settings.

Although all panty vibrators are controlled wirelessly, some utilize remotes with limited distance ranges while others are operated through an app.

The wireless technology of app-controlled panty vibrators offers even more power, flexibility, and distance range to the user compared to remotes, and apps can generally be used more discreetly in public.

When your phone is your remote control, it stays with you wherever you go and no one is the wiser — you (or your partner) will appear to simply be playing on a phone.

In our testing, we didn’t deal with much in the way of app connectivity issues although many users DO report frequent struggles with that.

In our experience, the hardest part involved pairing the device with the app, for those that used one.

Once that hurdle was overcome, the rest was smooth sailing.

Finally, panty vibrators provide a way for those with mobility issues or physical disabilities to enjoy sexual stimulation through hands-free means.

Some remotes are on the small side — which may be problematic for those who struggle with dexterity or fine motor skills.

When considering any panty vibrator’s performance, we took into account all of the different needs and preferences that people might potentially have.

As a result of our rigorous testing, we included a variety of panty vibrators in our top recommendations.

The products we tested that did not make our list are still good products — they simply didn’t work as well for our testers as they could have.

As we mentioned earlier, it’s best to use our review as a starting point to guide you toward the products that will best suit your needs — whatever they happen to be.

What To Know About Panty Vibrators

What Are Vibrating Panties And Why Should You Use Them?

Panty vibrators, also known as vibrating underwear, are an innovative type of sex toy that allows you to wear a vibrator discreetly under your clothing — with those around you being none the wiser.

To learn more about them, watch our video below:

What Are They

What Are Vibrating Panties?

There are two distinct types of vibrating panties — integrated and standalone — and it’s important to understand their key differences before you begin your search for the perfect panty vibe.

Although the name might seem pretty straightforward, the truth is that the panties themselves don’t vibrate.

Integrated vibrating panties are specially built with a small, sewn-in pouch that’s designed to house a small vibrating sex toy, such as an egg vibrator or bullet vibrator, and this is where your feel-good rumbles come from.

Standalone panty vibrators, on the other hand, are designed to sit inside any pair of underwear without falling out.

A perk to standalone panty vibes is you can use them with any existing pair of lingerie and/or panties you currently own — as long as they fit tightly enough to keep the vibrator in place.

Who Should Use Them

Who Should Use Vibrating Panties?

Anyone seeking a bit of naughty fun while out and about or a new way to spice things up in the bedroom will find the option of a vibrator panty to be a very tempting one.

Picture this: You’re out with your significant other painting the town 50 shades of red.

Between dinner, wine, and dancing the night away, you think to yourself, “It can’t possibly get any better than this.”

Oh, but it can.

Out of nowhere, your bits are tickled in the most delicious of ways from a sudden rumbling vibration that the rest of the world is completely oblivious to.

The icing on the cake is that your partner is the only other person in the room who is in on the fun because they are controlling your pleasure…remotely.

Additionally, app-driven models make it possible for couples to explore sexual play even if they can’t be in the same city — or country — as one another.

When used for solo play, the ability to control your pleasure and approach to orgasm, including edging, via wireless remote or phone app is simply too good to not indulge in.

Vibrating panties are also a good choice for anyone who needs a vibrator that can be operated hands-free due to mobility issues.

No matter your personal situation, both individuals and couples alike can consider a wearable vibrator as a viable option for next-level pleasure.

Pros And Cons

Pros And Cons Of Vibrating Panties

Although vibrating panties can be wonderful additions to your sex life — whether you use them alone or with a partner — like all things, there are pros and cons to consider before you buy a pair.

The Pros Of Vibrating Panties:

  • They’re versatile enough to be used just about anywhere
  • They offer a way to enjoy hands-free stimulation, which is especially great for people with hand mobility issues
  • Many offer a variety of vibration patterns and speeds, sometimes with the ability to create customized patterns
  • They can be worn discreetly for public play
  • They make it possible for one partner to control the pleasure of the other remotely from a distance
  • Internet app-enabled models provide a way for long-distance couples to connect sexually, even when they are miles (or countries) apart
  • They tend to be quiet, although not always

The Cons Of Vibrating Panties:

  • There can be sizing issues relating to the proper fit of one-size-fits-all integrated panties
  • Likewise, fit and placement can be problematic with some models when pairing them with underwear that you already own
  • Many panty vibrators are operated through an app, which can be buggy when you least expect it
  • Although they can be worn discreetly, some vibrating panties do not operate quietly — so they may not always be ideal for use in public settings

All of these things are important considerations you should weigh when you’re shopping for a pair of vibrating panties.

Again, it all comes down to how you intend to use them — particularly if you plan to do so in public.

Tips

Tips For Using Vibrating Panties

The way you use a pair of vibrating underwear will largely depend on your personal preferences.

Do you want to play with them at home or in public? Alone or with a partner?

Consider first what you’d like to do with them — and go from there.

When using vibrating panties, you should keep these important things in mind:

  • There will likely be a bit of a learning curve early on
  • If the product you purchase comes with a user manual/guide, read it thoroughly first
  • Always clean your vibrator before and after each session. For the underwear itself, the hamper will do until laundry day rolls around
  • Before using a panty vibrator with a partner, you should establish some ground rules, particularly when using it in public. Safewords are not just for BDSM or dominant/submissive sex play

What To Look For

What You Should Look For In A Vibrating Panty And Safety

Photograph Of Kayla Holding The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty Vibrator In Her Hand

Beyond understanding the ways to use a vibrating panty, it’s important to avoid those crafted from unsafe (or dangerous) materials.

When considering the overall quality of any vibrating panty, the materials were our first and most important consideration when we began selecting products for consideration.

Although the way a vibrating panty performs certainly matters, it should always come AFTER material and construction considerations.

After all, even if a vibrating panty works beautifully, if it’s made from porous materials that can leach harmful chemicals during use, the way it performs is secondary.

Despite our strict criteria, we found a wide selection of panty vibrators that exceeded our safety requirements.

Are Vibrating Panties Safe

Are Vibrating Panties Safe?

Yes, vibrating panties are perfectly safe provided they’re used according to the instructions and are made from body-safe materials.

Vibrating panties will not cause permanent nerve damage to your vulva or clitoris, even during extended wear and use.

At most, temporary desensitization might occur — especially when using a strong vibration setting over a long period — but taking a break is enough to return sensation.

During Pregnancy
  • Safety Of Vibrating Panties When Pregnant

If you are not currently facing pregnancy complications and have no history of them, using a panty vibrator during pregnancy is quite safe.

Consult your doctor if you’re at all unsure.

That said, because some panty vibrators include underwear that is designed to be used with the vibrator, proper fit can be problematic, particularly during the third trimester.

For this reason, you might opt to select and use a panty vibrator that can be held in place using your own underwear to best accommodate the way your body is changing during pregnancy.

Safe Materials

What Are The Safest Materials For Vibrating Panties?

When it comes to the safest materials for vibrating underwear, let’s tackle the panty itself first.

Like traditional underwear, common materials for integrated vibrating panties include lace, cotton, mesh, nylon, leather, and latex.

While these materials are safe, those with latex allergies should pay extra attention to product descriptions when shopping around to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Panty vibrator materials that are safe include:

Sex toys manufactured of nonporous materials like those we listed above can be cleaned easily with mild detergent and a warm washcloth.

If the vibrator is waterproof, it can be submerged during cleaning.

All lubes, including silicone and oil-based lubricants, are safe to use with ABS plastic.

However, as silicone lubricant can degrade toys made from the same material, sex toys crafted from silicone should only be used with water-based lube.

Unsafe Materials

Vibrating Panty Materials You Should Avoid

Sex toy materials that are porous or that have the potential to leach toxic chemicals should be avoided not just in vibrating panties, but in all sex toys in general.

Panty vibrator materials you should avoid include:

Before purchasing a vibrating panty, it’s important to make sure that it is crafted from safe materials — so read the label and research the product’s specs before you invest in it.

All of our recommended panty vibrators are crafted from body-safe materials you can use with confidence.

FAQs: Vibrating Panties

Frequently Asked Questions About Vibrating Panties

If you’ve got questions about using vibrating panties — from the way they fit to how discreet they really are and how to use them — you’ve come to the right place.

Underwear Size

Should You Purchase Your Normal Underwear Size When Buying A Vibrating Panty?

For the most part, you should select your normal underwear size when purchasing a pair of vibrating panties, however, they are not typically available in comparable sizing increments.

In terms of size and fit, you might be a bit frustrated or surprised by how the sizing actually works with this type of product.

Many are “one size fits most,” which can be a little misleading.

Additionally, some are offered in “one size” and “one size queen” options, with the latter being plus-size.

Many brands incorporate ties on the sides to accommodate a wider range of body sizes — making them far more versatile in terms of fit.

When in doubt about the way a vibrating panty may fit you, it may be best to opt for a standalone clitoral vibrator that is designed for use with the panties and lingerie you already own.

This ensures the last thing on your mind is how the bottoms will fit or look so you can focus on the right goal: Your sexual satisfaction.

Are They Quiet & Discreet

Are Vibrating Panties Quiet And Discreet?

Vibrating panties can be quiet and discreet — but not always.

Loudness is subjective and it’s based on either the ambient sound in a given environment or how far away you are from the thing that’s making the noise.

To be completely discreet in public, your vibrating panties can’t rumble so loudly that they announce to the rest of the world, “THERE’S A PARTY IN MY PANTS AND IT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!”

What this means is that a whisper-quiet panty vibrator may seem loud when you’re sitting in a deathly silent library, but the same vibe can go completely undetected as you’re cruising through the grocery store.

Still, the quietest vibrators are generally considered to operate at about 50 decibels or less.

Below is a great breakdown of how certain decibel ranges stack up by comparison:

  • Breathing — 10 dB
  • Ticking watch — 20 dB
  • Soft whisper — 30 dB
  • Refrigerator hum — 40 dB
  • Normal conversation — 60 dB
  • Air conditioner — 60 dB
  • Washing machine or dishwasher — 70 dB
  • City traffic (inside a vehicle) — 80 to 85 dB
  • Lawnmowers and leaf blowers — 80 to 85 dB
  • Motorcycle — 95 dB
  • Shouting or barking in your ear — 110 dB

If you see a decibel range listed among the features of a panty vibrator you’re considering, that information could help you determine which product will ultimately be best according to your personal preferences.

That said, decibel levels are not always listed in manufacturer specifications so we tested them ourselves.

If you’re searching specifically for vibrators that operate below 50 dB, take a look at our review of the best quiet vibrators.

When it comes to a discreet fit under clothing, most panty vibrators are meant to fit snugly against the vulva during use and typically feature a thin, contoured design to achieve this.

In most cases and barring skin-tight apparel, a pair of vibrating underwear can be worn in public without detection.

Exceptions to this rule might include egg-shaped panty vibrators that are wider in diameter — these may create a small bulge in the crotch area that can be visible depending on the fit of your clothing.

If you plan to use your panty vibrator in public, it’s a good idea to wear it with your intended clothing at home, checking your appearance in a mirror (and from multiple angles) to make sure it isn’t visible.

Cost

How Much Are Vibrating Panties?

As with most vibrators, the cost varies widely depending on the brand and model (and where you buy it), but as a general rule, vibrating panties might run anywhere between $43 and $200+.

We took a quick look at Adam & Eve’s offerings and found their least expensive model was priced at $42.95, at the time of this writing.

Their most expensive panty vibrators are $179.95.

At Lovehoney, panty vibrators range from $219 (for a set of 2 Moxies) down to $49.99, not including items on sale or at a deep discount.

What They Look Like

What Do Vibrating Panties Look Like?

As we mentioned earlier, the panties themselves do not actually vibrate — rather, they hold a vibrator in place against your vulva — so they look just like any other pair of underwear might.

Some products include panties and those (generally speaking) feature lacy or sexy bikini designs — most often in black lace, although not always.

For those vibrators designed to be used with the underwear of your choice, such vibrating panties will look exactly like your own undies — because they are.

How To Put Them On

How Do I Put On Vibrating Panties?

For the most part, you’ll put them on the same way you would normal underwear, although many products feature panties that tie at the hips for a more versatile fit.

In this case, the best thing to do is tie the sides loosely enough to fit over your hips, slide the underwear on, and then adjust the ties further until they fit snugly enough to hold the vibrator in place.

From there, insert the vibrator into the crotch — slipping it into the pocket designed to hold it (if it came with panties).

For a standalone vibrator that can be used with any pair of underwear, position it such that it makes adequate contact with your vulva, securing the vibrator in place with the magnet or clip if it includes one.

How To Wear Them

How Do You Wear Vibrating Panties?

Ultimately, that’s entirely up to you, how you intend to use them, and what you plan to wear them with (if anything) but for the most part, you wear them exactly as you would any other pair of underwear.

Depending on the fit, you might be perfectly comfortable wearing them under jeans but if you find that the vibrator feels like it’s pressed too tightly against your vulva, a skirt might work better.

If you’re at home and playing alone or with a partner, you can wear vibrating panties on their own — with no additional clothing over them.

How To Wash Them

How Do You Wash Vibrating Panties?

The vibrator should be removed from the panties (detached, unclipped, or slipped out of the crotch pocket, if there is one) and the underwear should then be washed gently with mild laundry soap and water.

Some people prefer to wash their lingerie by hand, while others toss them into the washing machine on a delicate cycle.

Either method is fine.

In general, lace underwear will keep its fit and quality for longer if it is air-dried, rather than placed in the dryer.

Using Them For The 1st Time

What Should I Know Before Using Vibrating Panties?

Before using a pair of vibrating underwear, it’s important to understand that not all vibrating panties operate the same way.

Carefully examine their design, features, and the specific way(s) these items provide stimulation to make sure you select the right product for yourself.

Despite how many companies rave about their products being very discreet, be prepared to hear some noise, particularly when using your vibrator’s higher settings.

While silence is golden, you have to give something to get something and it would be awfully difficult to have anything vibrate in complete silence.

So set your expectations realistically.

That said, there are plenty of other quiet vibrators to choose from.
