Our Hands-On Experience Using The We-Vibe Moxie+

Of all the panty vibrators we tested, the Moxie+ from We-Vibe is our absolute favorite.

Why?

In my case, it’s because it gives me exactly what I want from a wearable toy.

The vibrations are deep, rumbly, and throbbing, which is my favorite type of sensation.

photograph of the we-vibe moxie and its remote in a hand

I want to feel it deeply — in my clit and my soul.

The Moxie Plus fit against my clitoris perfectly in any position, but it was even better when I sat down.

My eyes may have almost rolled back in my head at one point, and I really enjoyed grinding against it.

Fellow tester Zoë tried the original Moxie and loved it, as well.

photograph of zoe smiling while holding a black we-vibe moxie in her hand

“It gets strong,” she said, adding that the “vibrations are nice and smooth” regardless of the setting that’s chosen.

She especially enjoyed the fact that it includes a wide variety of vibration modes, providing lots of ways to play and experiment by herself and with her partner.

I love how the Moxie+ feels, and that alone would qualify it as a top pick for me, because — truly — that’s all I need from a vibrator.

But as a wearable panty vibe, the Moxie+ did exactly what it was supposed to do.

It was small enough that I didn’t feel like I was walking around with something in my underwear.

photograph of kayla smiling while holding the we-vibe moxie and its remote in her hands

A too-big panty vibe feels a bit like the gigantic maxi pad that you (might) wear on heavy flow days (if you know, you know).

Zoë admitted that she was a little concerned about the compact size of the Moxie when she took it out of the box.

“The actual vibrator itself is very small, which I thought was going to be an issue,” she explained.

When using it for the first time, she discovered that “It was actually quite nice and targeted!”

Zoë noted that the Moxie’s small size may not fit all vulvas equally, however, none of our testers (including myself) experienced any difficulty using either version of it.

Moxie’s magnet actually kept the vibrator attached to my panties without feeling bulky so I didn’t feel the need to constantly check myself.

I couldn’t say the same for every other panty vibrator I tried.

Zoë particularly liked the “really secure and unique clasp system” of the Moxie because it can be used with any underwear you own, regardless of style or cut.

photograph of zoe holding the we-vibe moxie and its two magnetic discs, which work together to hold the vibrator in place when it is worn

Even better, the Moxie and Moxie+ are both quiet enough for public play (operating between 44.9 and 52.4 dB, which is between the sound of a refrigerator hum and a normal conversation), and using either the discreet remote control or the mobile app means you’ll be able to enjoy yourself undetected.

(Although your facial expressions, like eye-rolling pleasure, might give you away…)

The Moxie+ is the first vibrator to ever convince me that a mobile app for a sex toy might actually be worth the hassle.

I’ll be honest with you: I usually skip any toy’s mobile app feature because by the time I use a vibrator to get myself off, what I need is a break from my phone — not to be attached to it while I orgasm.

Since the Moxie+ is designed to be used with a partner (if you choose) and in public (if you’re feeling frisky), the app is perfect for both.

photograph of we-vibe moxie in hand over its packaging with text overlaid explaining that the vibrator is small and discreet for public use, making it a great companion during date night

Think about it.

The vast majority of people pay very close attention to their phones while in public — you can’t throw a rock without hitting someone who’s staring at their phone.

When using the We-Connect app to control the Moxie+ in public, you’ll blend right in — although it makes me wonder how many people are pretending to be texting when they’re actually controlling someone’s panty vibrator (or their own).

Although some users have mentioned experiencing issues with app connectivity or pairing the device to the app, our team didn’t have any problem connecting to or using it.

It’s worth noting that the Moxie+ offers improved app connectivity over the original Moxie — a slight but important upgrade for those who are looking for solid connectivity over long distances.

That said, the 5-second pairing feels exceptionally long while you’re actually doing it — and the Moxie+ has to be unpaired from its remote before it can be paired (and used) with the app.

From my own perspective, the Moxie Plus is perfect as a warm-up for arousal or to tease yourself (or a partner!) over a long period of time so you’re ready for what happens after the panties come off.

I didn’t reach orgasm with the Moxie+ by itself (although our other testers did) — which didn’t surprise me or bother me — but it definitely got me ready for a mind-blowing orgasm later.

What Is The We-Vibe Moxie+?

aerial photograph of we-vibe moxie with its remote, featuring the vibrator laying over its own image on the purple and aqua blue packaging

The Moxie Plus by We-Vibe is a wearable panty vibrator that provides clitoral stimulation while you sit, stand, or walk around.

It’s a small and flat clitoral vibrator that rests inside the crotch of your panties, held firmly in place with the help of a magnet.

Although the Moxie+ is a panty vibrator, it doesn’t include panties — but that isn’t a bad thing, since it’s designed to work with any pair of underwear you own.

How Does The We-Vibe Moxie+ Work?

photograph of a blue we-vibe moxie with its white remote on satin and lace material with "we-vibe moxie" text overlaid

The Moxie+ (and original Moxie) features two magnetic discs that are used to “clip” the clitoral vibrator to the crotch of your underwear.

Once it’s firmly in place, the vibrator itself is controlled using either the included remote control (which is very small and discreet) or the We-Connect app, which can be downloaded for free onto your mobile device.

I’m a simple girl and I prefer the remote control, especially since my partner and I live and work from home together.

I place the Moxie+ in my underwear and hand him the remote, and before I know it, I’m practically begging — for orgasms, for sex, something, anything.

As I’ll talk about in just a moment, the Moxie+ is super simple to use.

It also feels good against your skin because it’s made with super soft silicone.

You get to enjoy the pleasure of a variety of rumbly vibrations, thanks to the 10 built-in modes and settings available through the remote control.

But if you want more, connect the Moxie+ to the We-Connect app*, and your vibration modes become nearly endless.

Charge it up (which takes about 90 minutes), and then pair it with the remote or the We-Connect app* (available for free).

Make sure the Moxie+ is turned on before you slip it into your underwear.

The magnet holds it in place while also giving you the freedom to place the vibrator where it feels best for you.

Once it’s in, use the remote or the app to find the mode or setting that feels best to you.

Or you can hand the remote to your partner (or ask them to download the app) and let them control the settings for you.

And if your partner isn’t close by, no problem.

The app allows long-distance lovers to play from any distance. You both simply need the app on your phone.

Connect your Moxie Plus to your partner’s app, and they can “drive” no matter where they are.

How Do I Use The We-Vibe Moxie+?

close up photograph of blue we-vibe moxie vibrator held in hand with its packaging in background

To use the Moxie+, you’ll need to begin by charging it, which takes up to 90 minutes (although it only took about 30 minutes to reach a full charge the first time I used it).

Beyond charging it, the Moxie+ is almost ready to use out of the box.

The most “difficult” part of the process, in my experience, was making sure it was paired properly.

The Moxie+ (or original Moxie) will automatically pair with the included remote but you have to hold down the correct buttons for several seconds before you’re really ready to play.

diagram depicting how to pair we-vibe moxie with its remote, holding power button on the vibrator and an arrow button on the remote for 5 seconds each, in that order

You’ll have to hold the power button on the Moxie+ for 5 (very long) seconds — when it pulses twice, you’ll then press and hold one of the < or > arrow buttons on the remote for 5 seconds.

(It’s important to note that you’ll need to unpair the device from the remote if you intend to use it with the We-Connect app. To unpair the remote, press and hold the < or > arrow button for 5 seconds. Follow the steps above to pair the Moxie+ with its remote again as needed.)

On the remote, the < and > buttons on the left and right let you cycle through the 10 provided modes.

photograph of we-vibe moxie remote in hand with text depicting what the buttons do: < and > for cycling through settings and + and – for adjusting intensity

The + and – buttons increase and decrease the intensity of each mode, respectively.

The remote itself is so small, it can easily fit inside a pocket and isn’t obvious while it’s being held — plus it’s very intuitive to use.

To pair the Moxie+ with the We-Connect app*, you’ll have to download the app (it’s free) and then follow the onscreen instructions.

We-Vibe notes that if you are struggling to connect the Moxie+ with the app, make sure the vibrator has first been unpaired from its remote (by pressing one of the arrow buttons for 5 seconds).

You’ll want to make sure the vibrator itself is turned on (by pressing its control button for 2 seconds) before placing it in your underwear — you’ll turn it off the same way.

The Moxie (and Moxie+) features two small magnetic discs — one remains attached to the bottom of the vibrator while the other is used to clip it in place.

Situate the Moxie+ inside the crotch of your underwear, placing it where it can press against your clitoris and vulva:

animated gif outlining the basic steps for attaching a magnetic panty vibrator to underwear

When you have it positioned where you need it, attach the other magnetic disc to the outside of your underwear to hold the vibrator in place.

Once the panty vibe is turned on and placed securely in your panties, using the Moxie+ is as easy as pressing buttons or tapping your phone’s screen.

The hardest part is keeping a straight face if you decide to use it out in public.

We-Vibe Moxie+ Top Features

aerial photograph of hand holding we-vibe moxie remote control during an unboxing demo

The We-Vibe Moxie+ is an incredibly versatile panty vibrator that lets you (or your partner) take control of your pleasure using a remote or mobile app.

Before considering any panty vibrator for possible testing and review, we closely examine each product, weighing its:

  • Body-safe materials
  • Design and construction
  • Control method (remote or app) and connectivity
  • Sound level during operation (especially where public play is concerned)
  • Power supply
  • Battery life and use time
  • Vibration patterns, intensities, and speeds
  • Secure fit during wear
  • Ease of cleaning
  • Water resistance (when applicable)
  • Performance

Any vibrating panty should be made from body-safe materials, be easy to use and care for, provide a comfortable (and secure!) fit against your body, operate quietly enough to use in public (if you choose) and of course, offer incredible sexual pleasure.

The top features of the We-Vibe Moxie+ include:

  • Pairs with any panties
  • Multiple/unlimited vibration modes and settings
  • Extremely quiet and discreet
  • App for long-distance play
  • 100% waterproof design

Can Be Worn With Any Panties

aerial photograph of we-vibe moxie with its magnet beside it on a table, text overlay explaining that the magnet attaches the moxie to any underwear you own

While some people might not like the fact that the Moxie+ by We-Vibe doesn’t include panties, I personally found that to be a benefit.

You can wear the Moxie+ with your favorite underwear — panties that you already know will feel and look good on you.

The magnet is strong enough that you don’t have to worry about the vibrator moving around or falling out, regardless of your underwear’s size, shape, or cut.

It also means you can use your Moxie+ whenever the mood strikes, not just when the “right” panties are clean and available.

Multiple/Unlimited Vibration Modes And Settings

photograph of kayla holding the we-vibe moxie and its remote control while talking about it

If you only use the included remote control, you get access to 10 vibration modes plus the ability to increase or decrease the intensity of each.

That’s often enough for many people.

I know I tend to stick with one or two favorites once I find them.

But if the built-in vibrations don’t do it for you, the We-Connect app by We-Vibe lets you design your own custom settings and save them.

With the app, you can create a setting for the exact sensation and intensity level that works best for you.

It also means that you have access to an unlimited number of settings because you can create a brand-new one whenever you want.

Extremely Quiet And Discreet

photograph of we-vibe moxie in its box with text overlaid depicting it operates between 44.9 and 52.4 db (between a refrigerator hum and normal conversation)

The last thing most of us want is to advertise that we’re playing with a vibrator.

That’s especially true if you decide to take your wearable panty vibe on date night.

Thankfully, the Moxie+ (and original Moxie) by We-Vibe is super quiet.

During our testing, we found both versions of the Moxie to operate between 44.9 to 52.4 decibels, depending on the setting — which is below the sound level of a normal conversation.

Not only will it not be heard by your roommates when you’re at home or at the next table over at dinner, but it’s also small enough that you won’t be fidgeting while you’re using it.

Even the remote control is discreet and practically undetectable.

Best of all, using the mobile app on your phone won’t get anyone’s attention because to onlookers, it’ll look like you’re using your phone — just like everyone else.

App Lets You Play Long Distance

diagram depicting that the we-vibe moxie can be used with the we-connect app for long-distance play

As someone who has been in a long-distance relationship (LDR) in the past, I know how tiresome phone sex and using sex toys alone can become.

The distance can be annoying at best and agonizing at worst.

The We-Connect app* from We-Vibe lets you feel close to your partner, no matter how far apart you really are.

The Long Distance feature in the app allows your partner to control the sensations and intensity you feel.

Even better, if you both have We-Vibe vibrators, you can do it for each other.

To enjoy the Moxie+ long-distance, you and your partner will have to have the We-Connect app downloaded.

After you pair your Moxie+ to your own mobile device, you’ll select “Connect Lover” to allow your partner to control the vibrator over a long distance.

(Note: the Moxie+ itself has to remain within Bluetooth range of the smartphone it’s paired with during use — about 3 meters/10 feet with no object interference.)

Some users have noted connectivity issues when using the app, along with problems relating to pairing the Moxie with the app — but the Moxie+ offers improved app connectivity over its predecessor.

Although our testing team had no issue accessing, pairing to, or using the We-Connect app*, it’s worth noting that the vibrator has to be unpaired from its remote before it can connect to the app successfully.

Additionally, if the app is not used for 90 days, all partner-related data is deleted, according to the app’s FAQ.

A 100% Waterproof Design

photograph of the we-vibe moxie in a clear glass bowl of water while being controlled with its remote to demonstrate its waterproof feature

The We-Vibe Moxie+ is entirely waterproof (rated IPX7) so you can use it in the bath, shower, or even the pool if you want — safely.

Vibrators with IPX7 ratings can be submerged underwater (to one meter/~3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes.

Because the Moxie+ is waterproof, it’s easy to clean — you can wash it with mild soap or the sex toy cleaner of your choice (for 20 seconds in either case) before rinsing it right under the faucet.

The Pros And Cons Of The We-Vibe Moxie+

photograph of zoe talking about we-vibe moxie with text overlaid describing that "we-vibe moxie's magnet attaches firmly to the bottom of the vibrator for a secure fit"

No vibrator is all good or all bad, and finding the right toy for you means looking at what appeals to you — and what doesn’t.

We’ll explore the pros and cons of the Moxie+ below.

Pros:

  • Strong rumbly vibrations: The vibrations are strong enough to feel but not so loud that you give yourself away. Many clit vibes have the tendency to feel buzzy — the Moxie was surprisingly rumbly.
  • Secure fit: The magnet is strong and keeps the Moxie in place while you walk and move around, which can be a challenge with vibrators of this type.
  • Works with any underwear: The Moxie doesn’t include panties, however, it’s designed to work with any pair of panties you own.
  • The app gives even more control: It’s okay if you don’t love the 10 standard settings built into the Moxie (and accessible through the included remote) because you can customize the vibrations and intensities in the mobile app for unlimited possibilities.
  • Improved app connectivity: Although the original Moxie was designed to pair with We-Vibe’s proprietary app, it was not without its share of connectivity issues. The upgraded Moxie+ provides improved app connectivity for better performance over any distance.
  • Discreet design for public play: Looking down at your phone and tapping the screen is so commonplace that no one will imagine you’re playing with your sex toy in public, but even the remote that comes with the Moxie+ is small enough to use out in the open — and the vibrator is incredibly quiet during operation.
  • Decent battery life: Depending on the settings you choose, the Moxie+ can run for nearly an hour and a half on a full charge. That’s a lot of teasing to endure.

Cons:

  • The app isn’t always reliable, particularly with the original Moxie: Other users in the past have reported connectivity issues with the app, which can seriously kill the mood. While I didn’t experience any issues while using the Moxie+ — and neither did any of the other testers on our team, including those who tested the original Moxie — it’s something to keep in mind.
  • It may be too small for some: Every body is different and some people need more contact between a vibrator and their clit to feel the sensations they prefer most. Others just prefer larger sex toys, in general. The Moxie+ (and original Moxie) is slim and small, which may not be a perfect fit for everyone.
  • No option for internal stimulation: If you’re a G-spot person or someone who wants penetration when you use a vibrator, the Moxie+ won’t be for you at all. It’s made for external clitoral stimulation only.
  • No included panty: You might prefer that your panty vibrators come with actual panties — but the Moxie+ does not.
  • The cost may be prohibitive: Even with a great coupon code (see product specs), this is a $100+ sex toy. For those on a budget, this may be something you have to save up for — or skip.
  • Long charging time: If you have the misfortune to find your Moxie+ with a dead battery when you want to use it, the 1.5 to 2-hour charging time may suck.

No sex toy is perfect nor will it work for everyone, but for those who love clitoral stimulation, rumbly vibrations, and the ability to play in multiple ways, the Moxie+ by We-Vibe could be the perfect vibrator for you.

But it’s important to be realistic about its limitations, too.

This isn’t a budget vibrator (like our top budget pick, the Satisfyer Secret Panty), and there’s nothing more disappointing than laying out a lot of money for a sex toy that doesn’t feel good to you.

For me, personally, the pros outweighed the few cons that applied to me, and it’s now my favorite panty vibrator.

Is The We-Vibe Moxie+ Safe?

photograph of kayla looking at the we-vibe moxie in her hand while talking about it

If used with a compatible (water-based) lube and in accordance with the instruction manual, yes — the Moxie+ is completely safe.

The clit vibrator itself is covered in body-safe silicone so it’s safe when pressed against your skin, plus it’s very easy to clean thoroughly.

No matter how long (or often) you use the Moxie+, it won’t cause permanent clit desensitization or nerve damage, even on its highest settings.

Vibrators (including the We-Vibe Moxie+) are safe for use during pregnancy  provided you aren’t dealing with pregnancy complications (currently, or in the past), but if you’re at all unsure, ask your OB-GYN, just as a precaution.

We-Vibe Moxie+ Vs. Moxie

The original Moxie was loved by our team and for the most part, is strikingly similar to the Moxie Plus in terms of size, fit, overall design, and the features it offers.

There are a couple of subtle (but important) differences to note, however.

The Moxie+ offers superior app connectivity over its predecessor — a vital upgrade, if you ask us, since many Moxie fans had struggled with a lack of reliable app connectivity in the past.

Additionally, the Moxie+ remote features a sleeker and more user-friendly design compared to the original Moxie.

We-Vibe Moxie+ Vs. Satisfyer Little Secret Panty

My personal second choice pick after the We-Vibe Moxie+ is the Little Secret Panty from Satisfyer.

While it wasn’t perfect, it had some good qualities, though the Moxie+ is just a bit better, in my opinion.

  • Moxie+ Has A More Consistent App: Satisfyer’s app has some interesting features but they didn’t work consistently so I didn’t want to use the app as much as I did with the Moxie+. Specifically, the Satisfyer is supposed to pulse to music, which it does — but only if the song has a strong, driving beat. With softer songs or sexy music, it didn’t work as well.
  • Moxie+ Is Smaller And Less Bulky: The Little Secret Panty vibrator is small but slightly bigger and wider than the Moxie+, making it feel more noticeable during wear. The Moxie+ is narrow and fits snugly against your clitoris and vulva without feeling bulky (so it’s less noticeable if you’re wearing it beneath tighter-fitting clothing or jeans).
  • Moxie+ Charges Faster: The Satisfyer Little Secret Panty uses a magnetic charger which is great for keeping it waterproof. But magnetic chargers are extremely fiddly and have to be placed in the exact right spot to charge, which can be a pain. The Satisfyer took forever to charge (taking a minimum of 3 hours!), while the Moxie+ was quick for me — less than 30 minutes before first use and only 90 minutes to 2 hours for subsequent uses.

The Moxie+ from We-Vibe is more of a luxury purchase due to its price.

If you’re shopping on a budget, however, the Satisfyer Little Secret Panty might be the better option.

But if you’ve got the money to spend, the Moxie+ is an overall better toy, in my opinion.

We-Vibe Moxie+ Vs. CalExotics Lock-N-Play

On the surface, the CalExotics Lock-N-Play seems similar to the Moxie+ but the differences are clear at a closer look.

  • Moxie+ Has A Better Magnet: The Lock-N-Play’s magnet is built in but, for me, it wasn’t as strong as the Moxie+. The Moxie Plus felt more secure in my underwear and didn’t move around as much as the Lock-N-Play.
  • Moxie+ Provides More Options: While the Lock-n-Play has 12 built-in modes compared to Moxie’s 10, it doesn’t offer a mobile app. The Moxie+ has an unlimited number of modes, patterns, and intensities because of the customization options in the app.
  • Similar Rumbly Vibrations: Both the Moxie+ and the Lock-N-Play provide deep, rumbly sensations.

The differences between the Moxie+ and Lock-N-Play tip the scales toward the Moxie+ for me.

The sensations may be similar but the lack of a strong magnet makes the Lock-N-Play one I’d rather avoid.

The Differences Between Moxie+ And Other Panty Vibrators

Moxie+ is the standout for me out of all the other panty vibrators we tried.

How it compares to others differs because every toy has its strengths and weaknesses:

  • OhMiBod Club Vibe 2.Oh: This is a beloved panty vibrator that includes underwear but none of our testers had a good time with this one. It’s “supposed” to vibrate to music through its Club Mode, but it only seemed to work with voice — not music. Additionally, the included panties do not accommodate all body types.
  • LELO LYLA 2: Technically a bullet vibrator that can be worn inside your underwear, this one didn’t stay in place easily. Additionally, the SenseMotion remote is large and not discreet for public use.
  • Eve’s Rechargeable Vibrating Panty: As a panty vibe, it wasn’t terrible — it operates fairly quietly but the remote is a little on the large side. The real problem with this one, however, is the magnetic charging cable — it’s VERY finicky and did not stay in place easily (meaning, you’re more than likely going to return to your “charged” vibrator only to find it did not charge at all).
  • Evolved Hidden Pleasure Panty Vibe: Although it includes adjustable panties with side tie ribbons, they didn’t hold the vibrator in place snugly enough to deliver orgasmic sensations. Additionally, the vibrations are not especially strong overall.
  • Screaming O Ergonomic Vibrating Panty Set: Even though it offers a whopping 20 settings to choose from, it doesn’t operate quietly and there is no magnet (or clip) to hold the vibrator in place. The underwear is pretty and ties at the side for better adjustability, but it’s not really discreet enough for public use.

No, the Moxie+ doesn’t come with panties but the strength of the magnet makes up for it. It also gives you the flexibility to wear the underwear you prefer.

Yes, other wearable vibrators provide deep rumbly sensations but they don’t have the customization and infinite settings of the We-Connect app.

Nor can you use most other panty vibrators with a long-distance partner like you can the Moxie Plus.

While the Moxie+ is a luxury vibrator and an investment in your sexual pleasure, the beauty of We-Vibe is that they provide a luxury experience for the money.

Why Trust Our Review

photograph of kayla smiling while holding the we-vibe moxie in one hand

We’ve invested 133 cumulative hours (and counting) researching, evaluating, and personally testing the best vibrating panties over the past two years.

We started by:

  • Researching 87 panty vibrators from 31 well-known brands
  • Analyzing their construction and materials for safety
  • Considering their versatility and fit
  • Weighing aggregate reviews and personal recommendations from those on our team, in tandem with advice from our medical review board
  • Evaluating each product’s features and connectivity

Following the deepest round of analysis, we ended up with eight products we deemed worth testing personally.

I’ve been using vibrators since 2012 and have worked as a sex toy reviewer (officially) since 2015.

I began using sex toys in my early 30s after a failed marriage and some serious sexual self-discovery.

Tired of not understanding my own sexual pleasure, I decided to write about my journey in hopes that others would feel less alone, eventually becoming a top sex blogger.

As a self-proclaimed “clit girl” who prefers external vibrators above all else, I know what I like but I also know that all bodies are different.

My favorite vibrator may be the one you hate, and that’s okay.

I’ve gained a wealth of experience over the years to know the difference between “it doesn’t work for me” and “this toy sucks.”

Through my product testing and reviews with Women’s Health Interactive, my goal is to help others to have a happy, healthy sex life.

For accuracy and thoroughness, we also have an expert from our medical review board medically evaluate all reviews.

We do not accept paid placements, and all our recommendations are brand-neutral and what we deem to be the best products for the task at hand, with no agenda.

Is the Moxie+ worth the luxury price?

Our team thinks so.

It does exactly what it’s designed to do without shifting in your panties, being too loud, or feeling bulky.

You have so much control over the modes and intensity, thanks to the We-Connect app*, that as long as those deep rumbling vibrations appeal to you, you’re almost guaranteed to find a sensation you love.

No vibrator can satisfy everyone but if you’re looking for an arousing warm-up, a new way to get sexy with a partner (even in public), and clitoral stimulation, the Moxie+ is definitely worth a closer look.
