Updated:February 2023

If you have a clitoris or know someone that does, you’re gonna want to sit down.

I have news.

There are toys that you can buy — right now — that feel like world-class cunnilingus. Honestly.

Sex toys that provide clitoral suction are very different from a standard clit vibrator that uses a spinning motor to vibrate or from rabbit vibrators that stimulate the clitoris using an arm attachment.

Clit suckers are designed to create a sucking sensation directly over the clitoris — one that’s akin to what you’d feel during real oral sex.

In fact, after 178 cumulative hours of research and personal testing by our team over more than 2 years (and counting), we’ve concluded that the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation is the best overall clit sucking vibrator available.

We’ll also share more details on what makes a good clit sucker, which ones didn’t make our list, and why.

In A Hurry? Start With Our Top Clit Sucking Toy Picks

Important Things To Know:

  • Safety: Our recommendations are crafted from 100% body-safe materials — primarily silicone and ABS plastic — and do NOT contain unsafe materials like phthalates, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), bisphenol A (BPA), jelly rubber, or rubber, which are porous and cannot be sterilized, and in some cases, can leach potentially harmful chemicals during use.
  • How we chose: When choosing the best clit suckers, 3 members of our team weighed and tested: their materials, construction, power supply, charging time and battery life, vibration versatility, sound level, size and fit, ease of cleaning, water resistance if applicable, and of course, their performance and ability to deliver orgasms.
  • Clit sucking vibrators we considered: Over 2+ years, 126 clit sucker models were considered from more than two dozen parent brands. While 49 made our final cuts, and only 11 met our strictest criteria for personal testing.

Fellow tester and our editor-in-chief, Alison Huff, reviewed the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation and summed up this popular clit toy succinctly when she said:

“The first time I used this clit sucking vibrator, I came in less than 30 seconds. It changed everything I thought I knew about sex toys.”

Photograph Of Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation On Red Table With Autumn Flowers

From that point on, she explained, it became her go-to vibrator and regular shower companion.

“I never understood the fuss over waterproof vibrators,” she said. “Not until taking this with me into the shower one day. Then…I got it. It gives you the perfect opportunity to make use of your alone time, wherever you can fit it in.”

Photograph Of The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation In Clear Bowl Of Water

As one of the most popular sucking vibrators available (Adam & Eve has sold more than 525,000 of them, as of this writing*), the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation touts proprietary “air-pulse technology.”

Photograph Of Gena Holding The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation

Satisfyer explains that their vibrator stimulates without direct contact, via a larger-than-average soft silicone head.

Photograph Of Alison Demonstrating How The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation Fits Over A Clitoris, Using Her Knuckle As An Example

This is a vital feature when you’re talking about the clitoris — which is highly sensitive and the size of which varies from person to person.

Direct pressure can be too intense for some people while others would rather start slow and ramp up to more intense stimulation.

With the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation, you get the best of both worlds because through 11 vibration settings, it offers something for everyone — literally.

Photograph Of Hand Holding The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation Near Autumn Flowers

The first few settings are incredibly light, which is perfect if you don’t need (or want) intense stimulation.

If you do, however, this little sucker has got you covered — the settings beyond level 5 or so will rock your world in ways you never dreamed possible.

That said, it starts off quiet — but doesn’t stay that way.

Photograph Of Zoë Holding The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation

During our testing, we found that this one can get REALLY loud at its highest intensity (11), registering 64.9 dB — about midway between the sound of a normal conversation and a washing machine.

This means it will likely be loud enough to be heard from another room, especially if the house is quiet.

There are ways to make a vibrator operate more quietly, however.

There is one other important thing to consider with this toy: you’ll be buying replacement parts now and again.

Photograph Of A Hand Holding The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation From The Side

Specifically, the silicone head — which pops off easily for cleaning but is also not designed to last forever.

Most clit sucking sex toys do not have replaceable parts, so once the materials begin to show wear, the whole thing winds up in the recycling bin.

Photograph Of Gena Holding The Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation With Its Detachable Head

If you replace the heads whenever they show signs of wear, you can continue to use your Pro 2 Next Generation for as long as the motor works.

Additionally, this clit sucker comes with a 15-year warranty from Satisfyer.

The one thing I didn’t love about this particular vibrator is that it’s not easy to use while laying on your stomach — you have to flip it around, but then in doing so, the angle against your clit is less than ideal.

Additionally, I found the directions in the manual to be a little chaotic, but the ease of use is actually pretty simple — it has a button to turn it on and off, and up/down buttons to raise or lower the intensity.

Photograph Of Hand Holding Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation Displaying The Buttons Close Up

You don’t need to read the manual to use this vibrator (and in my experience, that’s a good thing).

In terms of battery life, the Pro 2 Next Generation will give you anywhere from about 35 minutes on high to 60 minutes on low after being fully charged, which takes about 90 minutes.

That said, it is USB rechargeable and the magnetic connection is strong — so you don’t have to worry about it becoming loose while charging.

Close Up Photograph Of Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation Attached To Its Charging Cable

(We’ve had that happen a time or two with other toys and there is nothing worse than thinking your vibrator is fully charged when it didn’t charge at all.)

Overall, the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation is one of the best tools for getting the job done if you’re looking for a clitoral orgasm that cums when you call — and without breaking the bank in the process.

Bottom Line: The SILA Cruise from LELO offers a slower roll compared to other clit suckers, offering sensations that are less intense but perfect for long edging sessions by yourself or with a partner. Crafted from the softest silicone imaginable, this waterproof vibrator features a wide, oval mouth that fits a range of body types with greater ease and the cruise control function maintains its power and intensity when pressing into it while reaching your big finish (climax). Although our top pick gets the job done just as well, this luxury option is perfect for those seeking high-end materials and longer battery life, and who don’t wish to buy occasional replacement heads.

Crafted from 100% waterproof insanely soft silicone and arriving in a classy ass box, the SILA Cruise is an upgrade over the original SILA, providing LELO’s “cruise control” technology which ensures the vibrations don’t wane if you’re pressing it tightly to your body.

The Original SILA Vs. SILA Cruise

  • SILA Cruise offers “Cruise Control” functionality — its only upgrade over the original SILA
  • Cruise Control helps the toy to maintain full motor power whenever the toy is pressed against the body with firmer force
  • To accomplish this, LELO SILA Cruise keeps 20% of its overall battery life in reserve to maintain uninterrupted motor power during times when the vibrator is pressed tightly to the body

Aerial Photograph Of The LELO SILA Cruise In Its Box, Surrounded By Plants

What that means is that, in the throes of passion and just as you’re about to climax, this high-end clit sucker won’t give out on you so you can reach your big finish.

“Absolutely love, love, LOVE this toy,” fellow tester Zoë said.

She explained that it’s “super easy to use” and “gets very strong,” featuring a lot of settings to explore (8 in total) and the ability to raise or lower the intensity of each vibration setting and pattern for a customizable experience — plus, it’s completely waterproof.

Animated Gift Of The LELO SILA Cruise "Swimming" In Bowl Of Water

Crafted from body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, the SILA is a sonic vibe with the deep, pulsing suction vibration that LELO’s toys are known for.

And boy, are they ever known for it — we reviewed the original SILA and it was mind-blowing.

The SILA is able to stay in place through any number of positions, and at a few different angles.

Photograph Of Gena Holding LELO SILA Cruise

This is due to its slimmer body and the wide lip around its opening — it’s easier to place when compared to the SONA 2 Cruise, which has a much smaller “mouth” and requires more accuracy for favorable results.

Photograph Of Alison Holding Up The SONA 2 Cruise And SILA Cruise From LELO, Comparing The Size Of The Clitoral Mouths

With some clit suckers (particularly those with smaller mouths), placement is a game of target practice, almost.

With the SILA Cruise, however, as long as you nail the general vicinity, the suction vibration is right where it needs to be.

Fellow tester Alison Huff, said, “I think the oval mouth is just the better and easier fit — you don’t have to play around with figuring out the best angle/position like you do the SONA 2 Cruise. Press the SILA against you, and it just works.”

Photograph Of Alison Demonstrating How The LELO SILA Cruise Fits Over A Clitoris, Using Her Knuckle As An Example

The SILA Cruise offers less intense sonic pulses than its predecessors, which may make it an ideal choice for those looking for something more subtle and long-lasting.

This clit toy is also great for edging — if you’re into long and drawn-out pleasure sessions with just one very acute climax at the end.

If you’re looking to sneak in a quickie, however, this can still get the job done if you ramp up the intensity on the vibration setting you like best.

Photograph Of Zoë Holding The LELO SILA Cruise

In our testing, this one can get fairly loud on its highest intensity levels when not pressed firmly against your skin, registering 61.8 dB (a little louder than a normal conversation) on its highest setting.

This means it may be loud enough to be heard from another room, depending on the ambient sound.

You can still muffle the sound with a few tricks, however.

Additionally, although it takes about 2 hours to charge, you also get about 2 hours worth of use on a full charge.

Photograph Of A Hand Holding LELO SILA Cruise Displaying Charging Port

One thing I personally didn’t like about this particular toy relates to the instructions.

Beyond tiny print on a tiny slip of paper, you get a QR code for the real manual — with no other instructions in the box.

Although LELO toys are easy to use once you know how to use them, the design of the SILA Cruise was not all that intuitive overall.

I honestly wasn’t even sure what the up and down buttons did, because they didn’t seem to have an effect on the patterns when I first turned it on.

Photograph Of Alison Holding The LELO SILA Cruise With One Finger On The 3-Button Interface

With time (and experience), I was able to figure it out, but it was not as intuitive as it could have been — and certainly not as easy to use compared to other clit suckers we tested.

That said, once you know how to use a 3-button interface on a LELO toy, you know how to use others — so there’s that.

Overall, the SILA Cruise is a beautiful (yet expensive) clit sucking vibrator that is sleek and highly effective — not to mention adaptable to a wide range of anatomies.

It’s definitely worth checking out if your budget allows but if it doesn’t, our top pick (Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation) gets the job done just as well — for less than half the cost.

Clit Suckers That Didn’t Make Our List

Clit Suckers That Didn’t Make Our List

We initially explored 126 unique clit sucking vibrators from dozens of sex toy manufacturers that included:

  • LELO
  • Womanizer
  • Satisfyer
  • Lora DiCarlo
  • XR Brands (Inme, Bloomgasm, Shegasm)
  • Smile Makers
  • CalExotics (French Kiss, Slay, and Naughty Bits lines)
  • Lovehoney
  • Adam & Eve
  • PinkCherry
  • TooTimid
  • Inya
  • Rose Toy**

  • Suki
  • Pipedream (Fantasy For Her)
  • Twitch Innovation
  • Rocks Off (Climaxium)
  • Shots Toys (Royal Gems)
  • Pink B.O.B.
  • HOTT Products

**Note: The Rose Toy (rose vibrator) doesn’t belong to a singular brand or manufacturer. However, after sifting through dozens of vendors, some with questionable materials, we selected only two we trust — Bloomgasm and Lovehoney.

When selecting sucker toys for testing, we first considered their materials — ensuring that those claiming to be made from silicone were indeed crafted from it and distributed by reputable brands that do not employ drop-shipping or other questionable order fulfillment practices.

After ensuring that materials were safe, we carefully considered aggregate reviews from real customers and members of our team who offered experience-based suggestions.

We weighed each product’s features, functionality, pros and cons, and price point to gauge which products were worth testing personally — noting the reasons why.

Our team tested the top eleven clit sucking vibrators that were rated highest across all of the above considerations.

In the end, we selected clit toys from lines manufactured by Satisfyer, LELO, Womanizer, Lora DiCarlo, Bloomgasm, Lovehoney, and Smilemakers.

The other companies listed above don’t necessarily manufacture poor products, however, they did not score highly enough to be considered for testing following our initial rounds of research.

Clit Sucking Vibrators We Tested But Did Not Recommend

Although our team tested 11 vibrating suction toys in total, most of them did not make our list of top recommendations and we’ll explain the reasons why.

  • Lora DiCarlo Baci

Closeup Image Of A Light Pink Lora DiCarlo Baci Against White BackgroundActually… this suction sex toy DID make our list of recommendations.

In fact, it originally topped it.

The Baci scored a perfect 5 out of 5 from all testers on our team — a rare occurrence.

Unfortunately for the rest of the world, the Baci is no longer available and as of the time of this writing, it appears that Lora DiCarlo has gone out of business — possibly for good.

  • LELO SONA 2 Cruise

Closeup Image Of A Purple LELO SONA 2 Against White BackgroundWe really wanted to love this one and in fact, one team member reviewed the SONA 2 Cruise a while back and absolutely raved about it.

However, several other testers on our team were unable to achieve similar orgasmic results.

The SONA 2 Cruise is beautiful and well-crafted, however, the “mouth” of the toy is on the small side and did not easily accommodate the anatomies of our other testers.

Is still worth trying?

Definitely — but if your clit is on the larger side, you may find the fit to be less than ideal.

  • Womanizer Pro40

Closeup Image Of A Silver And Red Womanizer Pro40 Against White BackgroundWomanizer is practically synonymous with clit simulators and the Pro40 is one of their most popular suction vibrators, however, our testers didn’t unanimously love this one.

The design is smooth and contemporary but Alison noted that this clit toy resembles a pipe — and now we can’t unsee that.

She said, “It’s sleek in design and very modern, but I feel like I should be able to stuff some pot in the hole and smoke it. It isn’t especially sexy.”

Zoë tried the Womanizer with her girlfriend.

“I found this one to be pretty meh overall,” she explained. “I liked it but wasn’t blown away by it. My girlfriend found it to feel too hard for her vulva and said it hurt.”

If you don’t mind using a clit vacuum with a firmer texture against your skin, the Womanizer Pro40 might be perfect — it just didn’t work well for us.

  • Womanizer Liberty

Photograph Of The Womanizer LibertySimilarly to the Pro40, the Womanizer Liberty was “nothing too special,” according to Zoë, one of our testers.

I liked how discreet this toy is (especially when the cap is on it) but its operation is loud — probably because of the hard ABS plastic body.

The tip is soft and features a removable head, but I really wish this one could lay flat against your body for hands-free use (or while laying on your stomach).

This isn’t a terrible sex toy by any stretch of the imagination, but it just wasn’t one of our favorites.

  • Bloomgasm Royalty Rose

Photograph Of Bloomgasm RoseThis particular vibrator was loved by some — but not all.

Alison, in particular, adored this updated version of the classic rose vibrator.

“I LOVE the wide base and the textured nubbies and there’s a little raised tickler in the center of the rose that just does oh-so-magical things to your clit,” she explained.

“This is a great one for partnered play, I’ve found,” she said, adding that it requires less trial and error when a partner is using it on you since the whole base of the flower vibrates.

Our other testers found the Bloomgasm Royalty Rose to be too weak, however.

If you don’t need strong clitoral vibrations or suction, this one might be perfect for you.

  • Lovehoney Rose

Photograph Of Lovehoney RoseWe’ve been hearing about earth-shattering orgasms from the rose vibrator for a long time so we were especially excited to have an opportunity to try one ourselves — just to see what the fuss is all about.

And…

We don’t understand the hype.

No one on our testing team had success with this one and one of them rated it a 0, admitting that she “actually hated this toy.”

Perhaps we’re harder to please — the rose is readily available from countless vendors, it’s inexpensive, and it’s probably a great “beginner” vibrator for someone who is new to clit suckers.

For connoisseurs such as ourselves, however, we expect far more from a vibrator of this type.

The Lovehoney Rose is beautiful and crafted from soft silicone that feels divine — but as a clit sucking vibrator, it simply can’t compare to others we’ve tried.

  • Satisfyer Pro Penguin

Photograph Of Satisfyer Pro PenguinOverall, the Satisfyer Pro Penguin is an adorable clit sucking vibrator that actually worked well for some of our testers but didn’t score high enough to be included as a top recommendation.

This little thing is so cute and it doesn’t look like a sex toy at all.

The large, squarish mouth didn’t fit all of our testers’ anatomies comfortably enough, however.

  • Smile Makers Poet

Photograph Of Smile Makers PoetA relatively new product from Smile Makers, the Poet is their version of a rose vibrator, featuring three interchangeable heads to offer more versatility in its fit and function.

Alison loved this clit sucker — but no one else was especially moved by it.

The Poet features only one vibration speed and 5 pattern settings, although you can ramp up its intensity by squeezing the sides of the vibrator during use.

That only works on the single vibration speed, however — it cannot be applied to the patterns.

The Poet is lovely, but it just wasn’t rated highly enough to be included in our top recommendations.

  • Lora DiCarlo Osé 2

Close Up Photograph Of Lora DiCarlo Osé 2Although not technically a clit sucking vibrator alone, the Osé 2 from Lora DiCarlo was a rare dual stimulator that featured a shaft for G-spot stimulation along with the same clit sucking mechanism as the Baci.

It was similar to a rabbit vibrator but with a refreshingly unique design that was especially effective — once you got past the initial learning curve.

Unfortunately, this particular product is no longer available unless you’re able to still find it from a reseller who has it in stock.

Why You Might Consider Trying These Clit Suckers

Even though these clit sucking vibrators didn’t meet all of our expectations, that doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t worth trying at all — or that they won’t work for you.

They are still well-made sex toys that are crafted from body-safe materials you can trust.

Clit sucking vibrators are designed to fit snugly over the clitoris to create suction but all bodies are different — so the fit can vary.

Additionally, clitoral sensitivity plays a major role in how well a clit sucking vibrator toy actually works — or doesn’t.

For instance, Alison found that the Womanizer Pro40 was too strong for her, even on its lowest setting.

And while she loved the Bloomgasm Royalty Rose (she rated it a 10 out of 10 on her personal scoring sheet), no one else on our testing team enjoyed it because the suction and vibrations were too weak for them.

Clits are kinda like snowflakes — no two are exactly alike.

For this reason, our best advice is to read in-depth reviews (like ours!) and relate those experiences to your own needs when selecting a sucking clit vibrator — or any other type of vibrator, for that matter.

Why Trust Our Review

Why Trust Our Review?

Aerial Photograph Of Hands Unboxing The LELO SILA Cruise

Collectively over the past 2+ years, our team has invested 178 cumulative hours (and counting) researching, evaluating, and testing the best clit sucking vibrators available under the advisement of our medical review board.

We initially explored 126 unique clit suckers from dozens of sex toy manufacturers — many of which are “parent” brands that own multiple product lines or smaller brands.

We then analyzed the materials of all 126 vibrators, ensuring that those claiming to be made from silicone were indeed crafted from it and didn’t contain any materials we don’t recommend, including TPR blends (“fake silicone”), PVC, phthalates, or jelly rubber.

Additionally (and this is particularly important in regard to the rose toy and other “off-brand” clit suckers), we investigated the distribution of the products themselves to ensure that order fulfillment doesn’t employ drop-shipping or other unfavorable practices.

The 49 toys that remained on the list were then carefully weighed, considering all of the aggregate reviews from real customers and members of our team who offered experience-based suggestions.

We evaluated the features of every product, along with its functionality, pros and cons, and price point to gauge which ones were truly worth testing.

Following the deepest analysis, only 11 clit sucking vibrators met our strictest criteria and were chosen for personal testing.

Finally, experts on our team (including myself, Zoë Tanner, and our editor-in-chief, Alison Huff) personally tested all of our finalists in real-world conditions in (and out of) the bedroom over several weeks to form a consensus.

Using our proprietary rating system that includes 31 individual criteria, our team engaged in a variety of tests, using them in the shower and during partnered sex, along with solo masturbation with and without lube.

Ratings included elements that relate to each product’s design and construction, intuitiveness, performance, battery life, ease of cleaning, and how likely they are to recommend it to others.

After all product testing is completed, the scores provide a consensus based on actual data — not what product earns the highest commission.

In addition, we are constantly evaluating new entries to the market as they become available.

We do not accept paid placements, and all of our recommendations are brand-neutral.

For accuracy and thoroughness, we also have an expert from our medical review board evaluate all reviews.

How We Made Our Picks

How We Made Our Picks And Features We Considered

Photograph Of Zoë Holding The LELO SILA Cruise (Left) And Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation (Right)

When we began our research, we spoke with the most experienced sex toy users on our team, digging into what makes a great clit sucking toy (beyond the safety of their materials) and what to look for.

We learned that the most important factors that relate to a clit sucker’s performance are the size and shape of the “mouth” — the part that covers the clitoris during use — along with the range of settings or vibration patterns it offers.

As we mentioned earlier, clits are a lot like snowflakes — no two are exactly alike in size, shape, and sensitivity.

For this reason, we were advised to consider any product’s versatility in terms of a person’s anatomy and needs.

More than half of the toys (77)  on our initial list of 126 products were rejected based on factors that included unsafe materials (like TPR blends, PVC, and jelly rubber), poor construction, or questionable order fulfillment (most commonly among toys of the rose variety).

The remaining 49 were whittled down to just 11 after carefully considering size and fit restrictions, setting and intensity limitations, and negative user ratings.

But we didn’t stop there.

When choosing the best clit sucking vibrators, features we considered included:

  • Body-Safe, Non-Porous Materials: Any vibrator should always be made from non-toxic, non-porous materials that are body-safe, like silicone and ABS plastic. We started with this one factor because it is the most crucial. Additionally, we also needed to verify that the materials are what they claim to be, as many “off-brand” vibrators may list silicone as their material when in reality, they employ inexpensive TPR blends (thermoplastic rubber, often called “fake silicone” and commonly found in rose toys).
  • Quality Design And Construction: Your most intimate parts come into direct contact with a clit sucking vibrator, but it can also be an expensive investment. Longevity and safety are guaranteed by a good design supported by sturdy construction, which you’ll find with not only our top recommendations but ALL of the clit suckers we tested.
  • Reliable And Convenient Power Supply: Most clit sucking vibrators are USB rechargeable, while some require batteries. We considered all clit sucking vibrators but gave top preference to those that are rechargeable.
  • Battery Life And Usage Time: For accuracy, our team tested the battery life of our top recommendations, charging them fully before running them to depletion on low, medium, and high settings to obtain an average use time for each.
  • Vibration Strength, Pattern & Speed Range: The clit sucking vibrators we evaluated have a range of settings for speed, pattern, and strength to accommodate most users. We considered those that offer light stimulation as well as heavy vibration, knowing that individual sensitivity can and does vary from person to person.
  • Versatility, Size, And Fit: Although clit suckers aren’t among the most “versatile” of vibrators (they essentially do one thing — but do it very well), size and fit were major considerations, as clitoral anatomy varies from person to person. The size of the clit sucker’s “mouth” affects how well it seals around the clit, which directly affects how well it performs (or doesn’t).
  • Ease Of Cleaning: For your health and safety, a clit sucking vibrator should be easy to clean effectively before and after every use, and ideally, those that are waterproof are the easiest to clean (as our top recommendations are).
  • Sound Level: Largely a factor for those who require discretion, the maximum decibel level of any clit sucking vibrator is a factor we considered and tested. However, it’s worth noting that clit suckers tend to be at their loudest when they are not pressed against the body.
  • Water-Resistant Or Waterproof (When Reasonable): Waterproofing is a concern for those who may wish to use their clit sucking vibrator in wet conditions, such as the bath or shower — which can actually affect the way they perform (for the better).
  • Real-World Performance: Finally, we tested the way each clit sucking vibrator worked by having members of our team evaluate them in a variety of settings. Our testing team explored how they performed during masturbation and partnered sex play, keeping track of how they worked, their effectiveness, ease of use, and the cleaning process. Finally, they rated each vibrator based on how likely they are to recommend them to others.

We feel that a quality clit sucking vibrator should be safe for your body, easy to care for, long-lasting, and of course — mind-blowingly effective.

Performance

The Performance Of Clit Sucking Vibrators

There is a wide range of clit sucking vibrators available but they won’t work for everyone with the same degree of effectiveness.

Why?

The clitoris is a pleasure center for those who have a vulva, however, its size, shape, and sensitivity level vary greatly from person to person.

Although a clit sucking vibrator is of course designed to create suction around the clitoris, its ability to do so is directly related to the way it fits over the clit and the intensity of its vibrations or suction.

Our testing team discovered a huge variance in the way that certain products were rated based on those factors alone.

A clit sucking toy that was “too strong” for one tester was “too weak” for another.

Additionally, and at least among our testing team, we found that clit suckers that either had a larger (and more oval) “mouth” or changeable head sizes performed better than those that didn’t.

What this means is that clit suckers with smaller mouth holes (like the SONA 2 Cruise from LELO) did not perform as well as those with larger openings, like the SILA Cruise.

When considering any clit sucking vibrator’s performance, we took into account the varied needs and preferences that folks might have.

As a result of our rigorous testing, we only recommended two clit sucking vibrators — both of which offer a mouth that’s accommodating in size and a vibration range that moves from light to heavy.

The 9 other clit sucking vibrators we tested but didn’t ultimately recommend are STILL quality products — they just didn’t work for our team unanimously.

It’s normal for some vibrators to be more (or less) effective compared to others.

What Are They

What Are Clit Sucking Vibrators?

A clitoral suction vibrator is one that uses pulses to produce a deep, penetrating sensation similar to what you’d feel when a person is actually sucking on your clitoris.

With just a touch of water-based lube, most vibrators of this nature will “latch” onto the clit, gently pulling it in soft, rhythmic patterns through motorized suction.

Sonic or air pulse stimulation is created by a different type of motor than what’s used in other vibrating toys — emitting a pulse of energy that’s powerful but not overwhelming.

This type of stimulation is ideal for body parts that have a high concentration of nerve endings, like the clitoris.

Technically vibrations of a sort, the pulses travel deeper and further throughout the clitoris without causing overstimulation.

They’re closer to what happens when you tap a metal table on one end and feel the vibration at the other — creating a diffused sensation that’s indirect yet unmistakable.

Who Should Use Them

Who Should Use Clit Sucking Vibrators?

Anyone who enjoys clitorial stimulation akin to that achieved through cunnilingus should at least try a clit sucking vibrator.

That said, you may need to try a few to find your perfect match, as they’re designed to fit over the clitoris — so size, shape, and vibration intensity can affect how well it works for your body.

Clit sucking vibrators are ideal for anyone who enjoys clitoral stimulation that’s deeper compared to the “surface” vibration provided by typical clit vibrators such as bullets, eggs, or wands.

As we mentioned earlier, clit sucking vibrators penetrate the clitoris on a deeper level and they’re not “buzzy,” in general.

Pros And Cons

Pros And Cons Of Clit Sucking Vibrators

Clit sucking vibrators are not the most versatile sex toys on earth but they ARE good at what they do — providing suction over the clitoris and sometimes, even the nipples or other erogenous zones.

If you’re thinking about purchasing a clit sucker, it’s a good idea to be familiar with the pros and cons beforehand.

The Pros Of Clit Sucking Vibrators

  • They create suction directly over the clitoris — which is a treat for lovers of cunnilingus
  • They can often be used on the nipples or other erogenous zones
  • They tend to offer a range of vibration intensities and patterns (although not always)
  • They are generally waterproof for play in the bath or shower and the water itself can actually change the sensations experienced (often for the better)
  • They tend to offer quiet operation although typically only when pressed against the body
  • They’re available in a wide range of sizes and styles, and some models even include multiple “heads” to accommodate different body types
  • They can be used during partnered masturbation play
  • They’re most often USB rechargeable

The Cons Of Clit Sucking Vibrators

  • The size of the “mouth” and the vibration intensity of any clit sucking vibrator can be hit-or-miss depending on your anatomy and personal sensitivity
  • Depending on the design, they’re not always easily used during penetrative sex
  • The noise level is higher when they’re not “attached” to the clitoris, which equates to lower discretion during use
  • These products tend to be among the most expensive sex toys

Tips

Tips For Using Clit Sucking Vibrators

When it comes to clit suckers, placement is everything.

The toys we recommend are designed to fit over your clitoral hood, attaching to your clit using suction.

Where you place a clit suction vibrator and how you angle it will depend on a few things, however:

  • Your body shape
  • The exact style and size of the toy
  • Your preferred sensation style

The very best advice I can give is to simply experiment with it. You’ll know when it’s right.

Oh boy, will you know

One important aspect to note about this “sexperimentation” involves the use of lube.

Water-based lube can help clit suckers “latch” onto the clitoris more easily.

You likely won’t need more than a drop or two, but a little slippery moisture will improve the suction — and the sensation you get from it.

What To Look For

What You Should Look For In A Clit Sucking Vibrator And Safety

Close Up Photograph Of LELO SILA Cruise In Box

Beyond knowing how to use a clit sucking toy, it’s crucial to stay away from ones made of unsafe (or dangerous) materials.

During our rigorous selection process, the materials were our first and most crucial factor when evaluating the overall quality of any clit sucking toy.

Though the performance of a vibrator is vital, material and construction considerations should always come FIRST.

After all, even if a clit sucker is fantastic, its performance will be secondary if it is composed of porous materials that can leach harmful chemicals when used.

Despite our strict criteria, we were able to find a wide selection of these types of vibrators that exceeded them when it came time to choose products for testing.

Are Clit Suckers Safe

Are Clit Sucking Vibrators Safe?

Yes, clit sucking vibrators are perfectly safe provided they’re used according to the instructions and are made from body-safe materials.

During Pregnancy
  • Safety Of Clit Sucking Vibrators When Pregnant

In most cases and in the absence of complications or health concerns, clit sucking vibrators are perfectly safe during pregnancy.

Certain clit sucking vibrators may present a challenge where fit and placement are concerned as a woman’s body grows and changes during pregnancy, especially during the third trimester.

That said, clit sucking vibrators offer a comfortable way to experience pleasure during pregnancy, particularly in place of athletic sex during times of physical discomfort or exhaustion.

Safe Materials

What Are The Safest Materials For Clit Sucking Vibrators?

High-quality vibrators are made from non-toxic materials that are body-safe and nonporous and the same is true for clit suction toys.

Always be sure to study the materials that went into making your clit sucking vibrator, ideally before you purchase it.

Clit sucking vibrator materials that are considered safe include:

Sex toys made of nonporous materials like those indicated above can be cleaned with soap and a warm washcloth, but most clit suckers are waterproof and can be washed (and rinsed) directly under running water.

Always check your vibrator’s manual regarding best cleaning practices.

Materials like ABS plastic and stainless steel are perfectly safe to use with just about any type of lube, including silicone and oil-based lubricants.

Silicone clit suckers, however, should only be used with water-based lube, as silicone lubricant can degrade toys made from the same material.

Unsafe Materials

Clit Sucking Vibrator Materials You Should Avoid

Clit sucking vibrators made from porous materials should be avoided, as these can harbor bacteria and in some cases, have the potential to leach toxic chemicals during use.

Clit sucking vibrator materials you should always avoid include:

As we noted earlier, some “off-brand” sex toys are marketed as being made from silicone when they are actually crafted from porous TPR blends.

This is of particular concern when it comes to the rose toy, a clit sucking vibrator that looks like the bud of a rose.

While TPR isn’t toxic (it is free from phthalates), it can harbor bacteria — even after being “cleaned” — because of its porous nature.

For this reason, it’s best to purchase true silicone vibrators from manufacturers you trust — including those we recommend.

Should I Use Lube

Can I Use Personal Lube With A Clit Sucker Vibrator?

Yes — and you should.

Once you’ve got a quality clit sucking toy, make sure that you use an appropriate personal lubricant in tandem.

While silicone lube is likely okay to use with products made from medical-grade silicone, we recommend using a non-silicone lubricant with such toys — just to be safe.

Just because something claims to be crafted from “medical-grade silicone” doesn’t always mean it is.

Unfortunately, the sex toy industry in the United States is relatively unregulated, so companies are left to their own devices regarding how truthful they are about the materials being used in their toys.

For this reason, it’s a good idea to only purchase quality toys from reputable manufacturers and skip the silicone lube.

All of the clit sucking toys on our curated list will work with water-based lubricants — an industry standard for most high-end sex toys. You can find our top picks for water-based lubes here.

Do They Cause Desensitization

Will Suction Vibrators Like These Desensitize My Clit Or Vagina?

No, they won’t.

That’s a rumor — you can enjoy using a clit sucking vibrator as often as you want without fear of losing sensitivity.

At most, temporary desensitization might occur following extended use, however, taking a break for a while is enough to remedy the situation.

Are They Expensive

Are Clit Sucking Vibrators Expensive?

They can be — high-end models may run upwards of $200 (or more).

I’ll be honest: sexual aides of this type aren’t cheap — nor should they be.

Look at it this way: a quality clit sucking sex toy is an investment in your sexual health and well-being.

The best vibrators can bring intense pleasure, deeper knowledge about your body and its responses, and even a good night’s sleep.

Generally speaking, you (or your partner if they’re doing the shopping for you!) should expect to invest around $100 or more on a good item for clitoral suction, although our top recommendation is considerably less than that.

Regardless, you never, EVER want to cheap out on something you’re using on your body — especially its most delicate parts.

The clit sucking toys we recommend include products on the low and high end of the spectrum, providing you with a range of options that will satisfy your needs and your budget.

Do I Really Need One

Do I NEED A Vibrating Clit Sucker?

Does vanilla ice cream really need hot fudge?

Maybe not…but why would you go without it when you know it’s available?

Clit sucking toys are relatively new additions to the sex toy lexicon and they’re an advancement so far past the vintage vibrators of yore, they’re in a category all their own.

If you don’t have one yet, I’m here to tell you exactly why you should.

While it looks small on the outside, your clitoris actually has got a lot going on beneath the surface.

There’s the hood, which is the part you can see (also known as the “little man in the boat”), and then there’s the wishbone-shaped extension that rests underneath it like the base of an iceberg.

Stimulating the hood with a finger, tongue, or toy feels…well, it feels pretty awesome.

But stimulating the whole thing with deeply penetrating sonic pulses?

That’s even better.

Conclusion

In Conclusion

Ultimately, an effective clit sucker will provide fun and pleasure in a safe and reliable way but before you invest in one of your own, take some time to thoroughly research which products will work best for you.

Choosing the right clit sucking vibe isn’t all that different from choosing a romantic partner.

The right one should be appealing to look at, unquestionably safe, highly dependable, and should be all kinds of awesome in the bedroom, hot tub, shower, kitchen table…or anywhere else you like to do your thing.

And if it just so happens to lead to hours of clit sucking — so much the better for you!
